VC Returns for the final time?

Carter, in his 20th season and his first with the Kings, played for the Nets from December 2004 through the 2008-09 season, and made the playoffs three times. His years as a Net produced some of the best numbers of his career: 23.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 44.7 percent shooting. He has played for six other teams.
“It’s shocking how long he’s played in this league. I watched him do a clinic one time in Florida. I was just blown away by his basketball IQ,” Nets coach Kenny Atkinson said Tuesday after practice at the team’s Brooklyn facility. “It was so impressive that I had to go after him and ask him more questions. … I learned a ton. He doesn’t remember it. I was just a young guy coming up and he was gracious.”
When Carter suited up for his first NBA game — Feb. 5, 1999 during a lockout season — current Nets rookie Jarrett Allen was just over nine months old, having been born April 21, 1998.
“Vince Carter, he’s like the granddad of the NBA,” Allen said. “He’s been through a lot of generations and he’s so knowledgeable, so athletic. You can go to him if you need advice. He’s seen everything.”
Just don’t call him gramps on Wednesday.

This is a must win, because after this, the rest of 2017 is brutal.

We're not stopping the slide, but breaking it up with a win will look better than potentially 10 straight losses to close out the year.
Fri, Dec 22 vs Washington
Sat, Dec 23 @ Indiana
Tue, Dec 26 @ San Antonio
Wed, Dec 27 @ New Orleans
Fri, Dec 29 @ Miami
Sun, Dec 31 @ Boston
2 sets of back to backs, 5 straight road games, and a lot of good opposing bigs.
The schedule remains somewhat rough in January, but lightens up considerably after the trade deadline.

Got a feeling we can steal one in Indy.
Anyway, why must we always play the Spurs during the Holiday week. Every **** year we go to SA and get a nice 30pt blowout for Christmas.

Yeah I say must win just for the collective spirit of the team. Especially heading into this tough stretch. Knicks w/o Porzingis was enough.
Don't want to see the guys go through another L tonight. Walking off the floor all sad.

well, lets hope for the best. If we can somehow steal 2 wins out of that stretch we'll be lucky.

I've been calling for this for the last few years. His number should be retired. He's a big reason why the Nets still have fans under the age of 30.
Ask Kyrie Irving who his favorite basketball team was as a kid.

Washington is gonna kill us Friday as revenge for what we did to them last game. Let's hope the team clicks soon. Those back to backs should be fun.

100% agree, I'm guessing some of the new guys in here are fans because of his time here. It helps that he's probably the best 2 guard in the franchises history.

Prokhorov doesn't care about anything that happened in Jersey he would erase the memories if he could.

Kidd's jersey got retired so I don't think it's completely out of the realm of possibility. If he wants to erase memories he should erase the King era.

If he retires VC number he has to retire Brook's as well he's the highest scorer in franchise history.

^Not fully against it considering Lopez' loyalty, professionalism and longevity. But VC was a much better and more impactful player than Lopez could ever dream of, don't think you can compare the two, VC deserves it way more than Lopez.

Nobody wore it until Donald **** Sloan wore it. It should be retired to prevent such a disgrace from ever happening again (tho I'm cool with IW wearing it)
