Why should we? People have their generalizations about the guy. No one forced Magic to trade a 21 year old prospect for him in a salary dump deal. I knew he'd have a down year being traded there.

Plus, the General Board is like 4chan for basketball fanatics. not worth discussing stuff on there.

I've liked Lopez for what he stood for in his tenure as a Nets player. But that time is done.

Their GM traded for an extremely overpaid player who isnt super passionate/aggressive and is a liability on defense. they basically got spencer hawes with lopez being more and more perimeter oriented.

Lakers fans need to realize lopez was viewed as expiring salary, not a roster piece.

I'm shocked at what we got for him to be honest I think he'd for better on a team like golden state or Cleveland but no one is paying him anywhere near what he's getting now going forward

Yo me for most of his nets career he never lived up to the hype of this first 2 season

Maybe if the didn't trade Vince he'd have had a better career

The nets are going to retire his number and that's about all they owe him

I still can't understand how he was such a bad rebounder it baffles me mind

Sean Marks basically carjacked, mugged, and home invaded Magic Johnson in one shot with that trade. Dumbest thing I've seen since Billy King traded the 6th pick for a declining Gerald Wallace.

Facts.

Nets may have “won” the trade but the Lakers didn’t “lose” either. They have better use for Brook and Kumza than DLo.

Kumza is a stud that has star potential and fits their team better.

They didn't need the Nets' 1st round pick at 27, to get Kuzma. Lakers had pick 28. Kuzma to Lakers regardless of trade

Im no fan of Lakers but Lakers weren't hoodwinked about Lopez - they wanted his expiring contract not Lopez. And they wanted to dump Mozgov. Magic had dream of signing LeBron and Paul George this offseason -- that was the delusion motivating the trade

Just a tough all around situation for Brook.

.... something so dispiriting about Lakers' downward spiral again this year, not even as much fun rooting against them. Their lockerroom seems to be imploding yet again. And yes they absolutely lost that trade, and should never have given up DLo.

Too bad we don't have the roster space or need for another center. I'd love to have him come back and play for Brooklyn, in a reserve role, to close out his career on a series of vet minimum deals. But he'll get a respectable offer from someone in the offseason to be their starter. Maybe he'll go to Bulls to play with Robin?

at any rate, if he were still here I'd defend him. I haven't been following him at all this season so I have no idea what claims against his are really warranted or not.

Sucks for them. I like Russell and he has done everything that management has asked. he'll do good things here.

That being said, Brook is a good dude and I hope he lands in a better spot next year. I don't like the lakers management at all, after I saw that clip of Brian Shaw badmouthing Russell to Dennis Scott on camera, I see what kind of environment they have over there. No surprise that they're imploding.

Brook was one of my favorite players for a while but the fact that he never said anything about the fan-base after he got traded left a bad taste in my mouth.

I wish him the best but don't care anymore to be honest.

worked out for both sides...any laker fans expecting 20ppg lopez is just dumb....n while la couldve gotten kuzma at 28th. we still got a solid role player in hart instead n an unknown in bryant.....bk got what they wanted but lets not actike its 100% nets win, mozgov sitting on his fat butt collecting free $ n dlo hasnt been on court for 2months now, if you guys think his knees isnt an issue, youd be wrong. he has knee issues both yrs he was here, for a non athletic quick twitch guy that should be concerning

Oh snap. I forgot Mozgov’s contract. Magic knew what he was doing. It really worked out for both sides.
