we all better pray that the Nets don't win more than 30 games next season

i know the losing will suck but we need to get our scoring athletic SF from this draft

you may be right, but I wouldn't be mad if we made a move to land kevin knox. he's someone who looks like he has some chops to stretch the floor & the quickness to defend wings at the 3 - kinda like otto porter. and who knows what 2019 is going to look like? all american rosters usually have a 1-3 standouts and the rest wind up being career role players -thaddeus young, brook. i'd either pray for barrett or just take the 30 wins and see who marks drafts

yep. say we win 30-32 games next season, we are still in striking range of pick in the top 12. Marks armed with a pick that high? Yes please.

Daniel Gafford will now be available in 2019. He was a projected lotto pick this summer.

im fine if we win 35 games and end up with pick 13 instead of pick 5. let it happen organically. many teams found stars mid lotto. just keep chipping at it

I’m sorry but we need to hit on the draft in 2019 or 2020. Thankfully, the G-League will be a huge part of us landing a top high school stud by 2021.

Keep in mind that the buck just doesn't stop with these high school kids. Not all of these names that are getting hyped will go on to become superstars. We can land a good pick that has 2 years of college under his belt just the same.

I disagree big time and it's not because I have an abhorrence for tanking.

We have 4 prospects who are do for big extensions in consecutive years: RHJ, Dlo starting 2019-20; Levert starting 2020-21, and Allen starting 2021-22. You don't start handing out massive extensions to players who aren't elevating your team. If DLo and RHJ (as 4th year veterans) cannot lead a team to more than 30 wins, they don't deserve contracts that combined will give them 40-50% of the cap. The following year, Levert could easily get a contract worth 20% and the same for Allen the year after.

The last thing the Nets should do is financially strap themselves into a core who doesn't elevate the team by year 4, but yet not struggle enough to truly be in contention for the best talent for years to come.

If you're going to tank, do it right; limit your spending, trade your bigger contracts of value for more draft picks/cheap assets, and select the player who you think will have the greatest impact. By year 4, a franchise player will lead you to more than 30 wins; tank hard and get that player who you think can do what these other current Nets can't do.
