I'd like to see Russell end up with Dallas. That young core fights right in with the timeline of Luka and Porzingas, and he's a perfect fit with them as a 2A or 2B.

Been real fun these past couple of years y'all! Not entirely sure if Russ has found his home in Golden State (would've been if he had landed in Minny), but hoping he sticks there. Gonna be rooting for the Nets to come out of the East every year!

Woah did not see this coming.

Good luck to Dlo in GS. Class act and made us proud during his time in BK.

Curious to see how Steph/Russ backcourt works.

I dont get it. What the hell did we get for him? Why help GSW? Even if he doesnt fit in a year, they have a trade asset now that they can use in a deal once Klay comes back. Makes no sense to me.

Might be the whole goodwill towards players...could be a middle finger to the Lakers...I just wanna know if we got back anything in return.

Just goodwill most likely. You do right by the guy that got you to respectability by helping him land on the team of his choosing.

I know people have a lot of sentiment for DLo. I get it. But as that no one can predict the future...if we face them in the finals in two years...will people be saying so glad we showed Dlo good will? And again...they may not even keep him. But could easily flip in later. They would have had no cap space and plenty of holes. I think people are looking past them. They are still a contender....the team to beat in the West until someone actually beats them.

I really want to see what we got out of it.

Honestly, yeah. Don't get me wrong, I really wanna know what (if) the Nets got anything too, but I remember a story about the Nets honoring 10-day contracts to two D-League players a few seasons ago to give them another year of service on record and agents and players took notice. As someone who's lived and breathed the corporate world the last 12 years, it's not the worst thing in the world to keep up a good reputation in all aspects of the franchise. We honored our player's wishes as best we could and if the the team we traded him to decides to trade him down the line, I'm fine living with the consequences on the chance we meet them in the finals. I'm more interested on how Marks and Atkinson continues to improve this team than if the Warriors and Russell can make it work or what they can get for him down the line.

Wonder if this was just part of the KD signing all along?

Happy for Russell, I think he'll thrive in Cali with the Warriors. He goes from Brooklyn to San Francisco... how amazing is that.

But really was this a Durant for Russell trade? Nets get anything additional back in the deal?

I'm still searching for Nets DLo merch lol. Need to find a good kids size jersey, but I'm upset my local Model's didn't have much in the way of Nets stuff (I live in New Haven County CT). My son just asked "Are the Warriors good guys?" It was literally the first thing he asked this morning bc he heard me telling my wife (who doesn't care at all) the Russell news. JEEEEZ.

It's the principle frankly. Russell came in here and was a good soldier from day one. The Nets doing him a solid and helping him get a max contract is fine with me.

I'm not worried about who we face in the finals one day, we need to get there first.
