Re: Nets Offseason Moves & Possible Trade Ideas II
If we don't resign Harris for more than a year, and retain all 3 2019 cap holds (DLo, RHJ & Dinwiddie), we're probably in the $40-$43mil of cap space range.
Theoretically, we could work a deal with Crabbe to free up more space, such as a greatly reduced buyout & stretch or convincing him to opt out & sign for more years at less money. Would he opt out of $18.5mil for a deal starting around $14mil? I think he might.
How much needs to happen for 2 max slots is largely dependent on what level max you're talking about. At the 30% Krie/Kawhi slot, you need to get to $64 mil in space for 2 max players. At that point, you may have to renounce Dlo all together unless we can dump Crabbe.

Just learned the news! WTF how did Sean pull of this trade? Is Howard so much off a team cancer that Charlotte dumped him for practically anything?

We need to attach Crabbe with Dinwiddie or D russ trade, he's making way too much and we don't really need him if we have Joe Harris. We can have 3 max slots next year !! With a lottery pick

Dwight did just had his best year ever in terms of DREB% and his lowest TO% last season. That said I would be very sad if he gets more minutes then my beautiful Afro Samurai

Also I know we now have two max spaces but I'm kinda worried on what we can actually get for that space. The best dudes right now seems to have set locations in mind,(Kyrie/Klay/Possibly Kwahi). There isn't really a super young superstar level player out there

ESPN endorsed the possibility of this happening. Feels weird.

Step 1: Getting Mozgov traded
Step 2: Target pick swap
Step 3: Acquire additional late 1st/ early 2nd

DIn is a FA in 2019 so that won't matter. I have us right around 48.26 million with us releasing IW, keeping the cap holds of D-Lo and RHJ on the books, the salary of rookie taken at #29, and the 7 additional roster cap holds of around 800k each. With a projected cap of 108M that leaves us with 59.74M to spend. Releasing RHJ gets us right at the 2 max spots threshold from what I could quickly gather. Obviously much could change from now until then.
Curious what we could get for DIN, RHJ, and #29 to move up in this draft. WAS makes a ton of sense. We've delt with them before and they want to get under the threshold. We could take Gortat's expiring off their hands and #15 for RHJ and #29.

One step at a time. One step at a time.
This trade doesn't have to be related to the next.
Maybe Dinwiddie, Crabbe and the 29th pick goes somewhere.

Re: Nets Offseason Moves & Possible Trade Ideas II
Next Steps:
1) Lin buyout (11 million; saves 2 million)
2) Trade Dinwiddie for Morris+Wiz #15 pick
3) Buyout dwight for 20 million (saves 3.5 million)
** results leaves us with 6.5 million in cap room **
4) Sign Montrez Harrell 2/14M second year team & player option
5) Sign Joe Harris 3/30M
Russell | Levert
Crabbe | Harris
Carroll |#29
RHJ | Morris
Allen | Harrell

Buyouts would probably be cheaper. Usually 75% gets it done. Maybe not with Lin though.

That scenario would make a solid off season! Man.... I would hope that type of roster could maybe elevate to 10 more wins than last year. I have to admit I am torn on trading Spencer Dinwiddie, but for Morris and pick is a no brainier.
OKC Thunder fan, too.
