I definitely side with MDB. All this Kawhi talk is borderline delusional.

I don't mind it but multiple posts suggesting it can get annoying really quick when the odds of it happening is less than 1%

Yeah I find it hard to believe Marks has any big moves left or else he probably wouldn't have renounced + started filling the end of the bench. But who knows.

My guess is he liked having all the open spots right now so he can get first dibs on guys he likes from the summer league since our last batch of g-league development prospects fizzled out (Whitehead, Webb, Doyle).

I wouldn't expect any more moves before the season begins, but again it's Sean Marks we're talking about.

What could be another trade we see? I think the speculation would be Dinwiddie considering:

A) we know Cleveland offered the 25th pick for him (showing he has established value)
B) he won't start here, but he can be a starter still for a few other NBA teams
C) the Shabazz signing was quality insurance in case he's moved

I'd either hope he gets moved for a pick (2020 would probably be even better than 2019 at this point, lottery protect it too if necessary), or he gets traded as part of a larger package for a star. Don't want to see any other salary dumps or lateral moves. Either build up the asset chest by getting a pick or start shooting for the stars now.

We will definitely be attractive to mid tier free agents. Other than maybe Kyrie, I don't see any of the top guys even giving us a meeting.

Are we coming off 12 wins with no long term prospects? Our best long term prospect back then was Courtney Lee lol...

Completely different scenarios.

-Our arena was in NJ at the swamp. Now our market is Brooklyn, NY.

-Incompetent GM/Ownership.

- No culture/system/plan.

- **** roster

etc

Kawhi seems pretty intent to be in LA.

I could see KD and Kyrie coming next summer possibly.

What is Kawhi's value right now?

Considering that no team really knows how badly he was/is injured and whether his injury is degenerative or not, I'm sure no team wants to give up too much for a guy who could secretly be damaged goods.

I will wager that the Nets don't even get a sit down meeting with:

Kevin Durant
Kyrie Irving
Kawhi Leonard

C: Richaun Holmes/Thomas Bryant
PF: Karl Anthony Towns/Santi Aldama
SF: OG Anunoby/Matisse Thybulle

I'm looking at the 2020 free agent list now. The top guys are Horford, Whiteside, Marc Gasol, Dragic, Love, Draymond Green and Middleton, not counting the RFAs . So it's looking like we better get our star in 2019 or we will be waiting til 2021 or beyond . Unless one of these guys come from left field and ball out but 2020 is full of role players to starters, no stars in there really.

I would take that wager with the only disclamer being if we trade for guys already on max deals prior to free agency

Isn't Brandon Ingram an RFA in 2020? It'd be a shame if Marks was to extend a healthy offer to force the LA front office to decide between him or the washed up stars that want to play with Bron

I know I can't be the only Nets fan who doesn't want to see the 2016 All-Stars on the 2020 Nets

If Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler or Kawhi Leonard have meetings with the Nets I will quote myself in my own sig and will leave it there for two years.

I believe I said "not counting RFAs" . I think Ben Simmons is a free agent too, well that whole draft class is but I believe most of the RFAs will be matched by their teams anyways. But you're right maybe not Ingram since Kawhi is going there.

carroll+rhj+dinwiddie+1 1st rounder(nugget's top 12 protected first rounder) and couple of 2nd rounders for butler. get 1 star now...sign another one in the summer. before butler goes to the Knicks.
