KP's lativan buddy and a 6'10" Forward that can do a bit of everything. Love the pick. We waited on this guy and it worked out.

Is he 6'9 or 6'10? Either way, intrigued by his potential as a stretch 4 if he can bulk up in the NBA.

Reports claim Kurucs could've went high as 19 if his $4m buyout with his euroleague team didn't scare teams off. He.wants to play now. They wanted him to stay overseas.
Sean the Wizard:
Did his buyout of $4 million contribute to some teams staying away?
“It could’ve. We’ll figure out the buyout as we roll through this.” (Jonathan Givony of ESPN says that in recent weeks, F.C. Barcelona relented and has substantially reduced the number. Under NBA rules, the Nets can pay up to $675,000 of an international buyout.)
You expect him here?
“I think we expect both guys to be here. That’s the plan.”
How would you describe trade talks with other teams as you were trying to move up from the draft?
“Pretty much par for the course. There’s a lot of scuttlebutt that’s reported out in the media and so forth. I think a lot of people are trying to be aggressive, whether that’s moving up, moving out and so forth. We’re always listening to offers. We’re always trying to make the right deals. But then again, you’re weighing that against what’s on your draft board. The cost of doing such a deal. I think we’re thrilled to have both those guys where we picked them.”
Did the Dwight Howard moves —the trade, then the buyout rumor —keep you from moving up?
“I think the group that we have in the front office is pretty curious and creative in how they’ve come up with things. To be honest we were weighing a lot of different scenarios, and I don’t think anything would have inhibited us from doing what we wanted to do. So ya know…:”

He’s listed as a SF, but at 6’9 and 220 he seems like a perfect stretch 4 in this modern era. Sorry Dante, no room for you anymore.

Great point.
He and Musa can immediately come in and take the spots of Acy and Cunningham.

I’m not going to pretend to know anything about either guy, but from the small amount i’ve read it seems Musa is more of a 2/3 so I’d keep Acy around. He’s the Nets’ Udonis Haslem.

I liked Acy going back to his Knick days. Although he's not as athletic as I remember. I certainly don't mind having him around considering how good of a 3pt shooter he was/is.

He lead our Under 16 team to silver medals few years back, was flat out best player in tournament back then imo. Got few unlucky breaks with injuries, but I hope he get's a chance to comer over and play some ball.
Apparently Barcelona was keeping him down, to force him sign long term contract, so they would get bigger buyout.

Acy was quietly our best defender last year (better then RHJ and Allen by the numbers at least). and he was very good from three and great late in games. among the NBA leaders in charges taken.

He looks like a stretch 4 all the way to me. Needs to bulk up and learn to play physical. Looks like he has a really soft touch on his jump shot. He shoots like a wing.
We BADLY needed a young stretch big so I'm glad we picked one up.

Kurucs is a better player than Musa in my opinion. But both of them need to put on muscle to play in the NBA.

Interesting. I would not be surprised if Kurucs turned out to be a surprise steal. Some analysts picked him as second best foreign player in draft. Some background on why he fell in the draft:
https://behindthebuckpass.com/2018/06/10/nba-draft-2018-prospect-watch-rodions-kurucs/http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/23276351/rodions-kurucs-euroleague-declare-nba-draft-againMarks showing again his loyalty to his original picks, willingness to take risks, and trust in the instincts of his FO team.
Both Ku and Musa need to get bigger, but Kurucs has the better frame for filling out.
