to be honest i had to goolge the guy to see who he was. 3rd year out of virgina, has barely played. looks like a decent 3 point shooter.
scouting on him is he is basically a specialist shooter without mugh else. novak light maybe
Has a quick shot release, making him a fantastic catch-and-shoot player ... Has good size for a guard, allowing him to back down smaller defenders. Has below-average athleticism, which limits him defensively ... May translate to little more than a spot-up shooting specialist in the NBA ... Won't be able to create a lot of shots against NBA defenses ... Relatively poor footspeed, which will be much more exposed when he is no longer playing in Virginia's slo-mo, grind-it-out offense ... Began to struggle shooting the ball near the end of last season ... Not particularly muscular for having a somewhat large frame for a guard ... Nearly a full year old for his grade, further limiting his perceived upside ...

2 years for 2 mil, possible outside shooting threat, 6'6" guard. We could do a lot worse.

Good for spreading the floor for PnR.
Does that mean Marks doesn't like Beech enough? DLeague first is probably more suitable.

6'6 SG/SF type known for being a deadline shooter. Hopefully this guy can be our Danny Green

I like what the Nets is doing. Keep the deal small and short and then hope for the best this year. 30 wins is definitely reachable.

13 gauranteed contracts and 2 partials.
likely 2 roster spots left, unless they start whitehead in the D-League in which case still 3 spots open.
going to be tough for harris to see the floor with Bogs, Kilpatrick, LeVert, Whitehead, and Grevis all getting minutes at SG.
we have a ton of wings, going to be interesting to see how it shakes out. especially if Marks still tries to upgrade the position with a starting calibur wing

Apparently, achieved an 4-year college career .407 from three. Floor spacing gunner-type SG? Honestly, I have no clue who he is.

I have no clue who this guy is, but this looks like a shrewd under the radar signing by Marks. Young, can space the floor, appears to be fundamentally sound. As long as there is competition and none of the team's young players feel entitled to a rotation spot, it will be mildly interesting to see who rises to the top

6 foot 6 sg, can play sf, competes on defense too. mostly a shooter but can drive to basket at times.
leave last 2 spots open for perhaps our summer league guys to take 1 spot.

May be reminescent of the old Lin to Novak plays. And if this guy plays some defense too, he looks like a good signing.
[Edited to add:] Here's his pre-draft work-out video.

Love this move. I thought Harris was a RFA. I would've suggested this option had I known that.
Joe Harris has potential to be a dead eye shooter. A real floor spacer but he's a Small Forward. He simply got his growth stunted by the LeBron decision.
Harris could be a diamond in the rough. You can see these potential surprises are a clear sign that our FO will emphasize development and organic growth.

the problem now lies in how do you get these guys minutes? we have a logjam of D tier guys and only so many minutes behind bogs and RHJ. id assume a few in the D-league. other problem is that its difficult to develop guys on teams devoid of veteran talent. we start 3-4 bench level guys. dont want these guys who are already clawing for mintues to be thrust into high volume when they see court time.
D-league is going to be crucial for us

It's going to be competition unless Harris slides down into a stretch four role.

Man what is Marks doing, who the heck is this guy. Why does he keep signing a bunch of nobodies instead of proven legit NBA players. T Jones about to sign with the Peli's now we lost out again smh. We might as well make our team a D-league team honestly.

competition is great, until your left with 2 or 3 young guys who dont get minutes and stunt their development.
harris as a stretch 4? i dont see it.

Whoever doesn't earn minutes will be getting PT in Long Island and vice versa. LeVert, Harris are all coming off an injury. I'd assume both could get a month in Long Island before being thrusted into the main rotation.
