Sasha Vezenkov Signed A 2 Year Deal With Olympiacos

Post#1 » by Mirotic12 » Thu Jul 12, 2018 9:26 pm

I figured that Nets fans might want to know, since they have his draft rights, and he was a free agent. He just signed a 2 year contract with the Greek EuroLeague club Olympiacos. He was signed to be one of the team's secondary power forwards (along with Dimitris Agravanis) behind Georgios Printezis. So he should probably regularly be in the team's 12 man game day rosters, unlike in Barca, where he was constantly in and out of the game day rosters. I would guess that he should probably get about 10-20 minutes of playing time in EuroLeague, and maybe 15-20 in Greek League.

I'm excited about this player thought he'd come over before he signed a contract.

At the time the Nets drafted him (last year), he was still a fairly long-term project. I think he needs these 2 years in Olympiacos, where they will probably coddle him a little and play him even if he struggles at times, since he has a Greek passport.

He has to work on his defense a lot.

I hear that about all the euro players Brooklyn drafted they need to scout players that can defend.

Man, Musa, Kurucs, Watanabe, Vezenkov, all shooting forwards, one of them's gotta pan out?

Thanks for the honesty.

They sound like a tough squad of mercenaries doing some piracy on the Pacific Ocean.
