The Marksmen strikes again. God damn that man is good. Wonder what the protections are on the Denver pick. Guessing lotto protected?

Possibly, I hope it's just top-12 protected or something. West is brutal, there's a good chance Denver misses the playoffs again.

Great trade by Marks. Lin had no further role here.

Kind of sad about Whitehead though. Liked the kid and thought he could be a potential backup. Will likely struggle to make an NBA roster now.

Did that trade for ATL come w/ the intention of Lin being part of their rotation? I feel bad about losing him, but if he gets more time there, then good for him.

Umm... gotta say Marks robbed some fools BLIND on this deal.

Faried + Arthur = 21m dead money

Lin = 12.6m dead money

ATL eats Lin and MAYBE moves up a few slots in the second round?

Nets get a DEN FRP which has good odds to be like #15-20 due to how vicious the West is and maybe move a few spots down in the second round, all at the cost of an extra 8.5m in dead money.

FRP for 8.5m cap

STEAL

ATL must be SUPPPPPPPPPEEERRRRRRRRRRRRR high on Lin to pull the trigger on this, otherwise it makes no sense. They literally paying Lin's sizable salary to MAYBE move up a few spots in the 2nd round.

Yep. I liked Whitehead well and thought he was transitioning well to a combo guard role.

Seemed like a good guy, so I'll be rooting for him to catch on somewhere...

Whitehead will probably be waived. Is there any chance he could be signed by the LI Nets if he doesn't sign for another team?

I think ATL's pick will be higher than the Nets. They'll likely tank unlike the nets.

Lin will negotiate a buy-out or being traded again by the hawks... he basically is just a 12 million dead money... if I were him, I would negotiate a buyout, then join a team that he has some use..

But Lin is Joe Tsai’s favourite player, there’s no way he can be traded. Is Tsai backing out on buying the Nets? Is he going to buy the Hawks now? This doesn’t make any sense!

I'm guessing it's the future second rounders mentioned here:

Since it's probably not for the picks, they probably think Lin will help them in some way.
