Zeller out severel weeks with a broken hand.

Add that to Wall out for the year and still 6 weeks on Dragic.

If the Nets make the playoffs, the FO pitch to Durant is 10X more compelling

January 25th the Nets are going to be 24-25 going into the game versus the Knix. This will be the night they reach .500 and things get real.

I can see the Pistons dropping out and the Nets taking 8th.

Only other team I worry about are the wizards(unless they go tank mode) and Magic.

If anyone has a link to NBA futures playoff odds ill add it

Can't find anything on playoff futures odds, just conference and NBA championship odds.

Our next opponents are NO at home, MEM on the road, CHI on the road, BOS on the road, and ATL at home. If we can win 3 out of those 5 games we will be starting out the new year keeping within a good pace of .500

Road to the playoff talk in January is crazy. Most people here expected the team to be nowhere near .500. Huge accomplishment so far. And the team is really making noise in the city.

Might as well make the playoffs because tanking is out the question now. I can't lie, I'm very surprised where we're at now I did not see this coming at all. I believe we will make the playoffs, we got good chemistry now and we can beat the teams above us. If we get to the 6th spot we will be in great position this off season. I know we will put up a fight whoever we see in the playoffs.

Yea, first to admiti had us at 28-30 wins this year. very pleseantly surprised with where we are. Atkinson deserves coach of the year consideration if we keep this .500-ish pace all year.

Levert, Dinwiddie, and Joe Harris have made ENORMOUS strides. Russell and Allen have made big improvements. Everyone (other then maybe crabbe who battled injuries postseason and now) has given more then expected or played at or above their abilities

thats rare.

Agreed, I think 38 wins gets us in. We have to win as many games now before All star comes. And I really hope we don't trade to win now, that would make no sense unless we can get a star. If we make the playoffs, that will be a huge accomplishment even if we get swept. I would be satisfied if Celtics got bounced in the 1st round too .

Currently have the 8th best point differential in the East, so theoretically we should secure the 8 seed as the season progresses. The problem of course lies at the end of the schedule, as many people have already noted. Our last 15 games are:

vs. Pistons
@ Thunder
@ Jazz
@ Clippers
@ Kings
@ Lakers
@ Blazers
@ Sixers
vs. Celtics
vs. Bucks
vs. Raptors
@ Bucks
@ Pacers
vs. Heat

If we come out of that stretch alive, there will be no doubt we deserve a playoff spot.

We aren't making it out of that stretch alive. It's even worse now than before the season started because no one knew LAC/SAC would be so good.

I'm not saying we can't beat any of those teams, but in reality thats a lot of road games in there. Bucks and Pacers own us and all of those west teams are most likely playing for playoff positioning.

Nets will need to do their damage from now til ASB to stand a chance.

Things get wonky at the start and end of the season. Guys take more rest days. I doubt we play .500 for that stretch, but 5-9 may not kill us.

tier 1
BUCKS RAPS CELTICS
tier 2
76ERS PACERS
tier 3
PISTONS HEAT NETS
tier 4
WIZARDS (w/Wall) MAGIC
lotery tier
HAWKS BULLS KNICK CAVS

I see NETS finishing the RS with the 6 seed (depending on how Dragic and Waiters will fit into the heat, in which case I think it would be an open fight by this slot)

I said we had to win 3 out of 5 during this current stretch to keep our pace and we won the game I had a feeling we would versus NO. That's one down.

We have no excuses to beat Chicago and Atlanta, but I would love to see the Nets win 2 out of 3 on the road with an underdog win versus either Memphis or Boston. Any team that takes us lightly will get beat. Period.

I can see us winning 4 or 5 games out of this stretch. there are teams on here who we've already handed an L to but things change

also, we may be even better in April than we are now if LeVert and RHJ are back and healthy.

Memphis is in full collapse mode. We need to get them all the way out of here. And get them back for our epic collapse during our losing streak.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
