Alan Williams should get that last spot. Could we be a team that would take a chance on Melo?

I don't think they'll convert Williams. There's no incentive at this point, unless they have another 2-way guy they're targeting (Zipser?). There's likely somebody they're targeting on the buy-out market or via trade that requires a roster spot.

Change the title.

While it isn't completely out of the realm of possibilities, making room for Melo is the first thing that that popped in my head.

Why is Melo even in anyone's mind for this team? He would ruin the chemistry we have going right now and we've seen that his game doesn't really fit in with a run and gun style offense.

Lmao at Faried’s smile. He can’t wait.

Good for Faried. He didn't fit in here but he has actually been really supportive and being a good teammate the last few games.

He def deserves to get mins somewhere and Houston is actually a good fit.

I have no hate for dat dude, he was a teammate and acted properly.

Um isn't this kinda jumping the gun by buying him out? He could have been use as salary filler in a trade during the deadline if we needed it.

The. Nets probably want to do right by him. The Rockets desperately need another big and he fits what they want from a big.

It was always a longshot that we'd need a $14mil expiring at the deadline. It's much more likely that we'd need a roster spot for an unbalanced trade. This was also his opportunity to land on his feet quickly, so I'm sure his agent appreciates that.

I figure they sign someone to a ten day. Essentially leaving the spot open for a possible trade or buyout player. If there is a spot afterwards, Alan Williams gets it.

I'm guessing the Nets explored his trade value thorougly before doing this. Also another move that does right by the player. Faried is a vet. No point in having him at 3rd / 4th string C with Alan Williams in the wing.

it is completetly idiotic yet he keeps getting brought up again and again... in addition to melo being a declining complete bum of a player and ego maniac, he is a horrible fit culture wise and does not improve us on the floor. i cant think of a worse guy to bring in

I think everyone is reading way too much into this. This is simply Marks doing right by the player... Capella is out for 2 months, Houston needs a big. Marks cutting him free so he can find a roll on houston where he will get minutes

nothing but love for faried, he got almost no burn here but was still a model teammate, best of luck to manimal
