I assume he's much more familiar with the Nets culture, staff and playbook FWIW. (altho that last part is debatable, seeing him on the floor)
Fair point, although I feel bad for bashing the dude in his fan support thread!

I think the ostensible reasons not to cut Pinson are that we signed him to a 2-year deal, and he's the real 3rd-string PG. At the level he's currently playing, ANYBODY on the roster could do better, but I'm sure the hope of the coaching staff is that Theo snaps out of this funk. No one is asking for miracles from the dude, just stop running our 2nd unit into the ground by ballhogging on O and playing poor D. I don't know why we have to walk on eggshells about blatantly terrible play just because he's not "supposed" to be getting these minutes. You're an NBA player; when they call your number, play like one. You don't hear the other 29 teams in the league apologizing for their crummy benchwarmers for stinking up the joint.
Now that THAT is out of my system, I will say that I still *hope* that he has keeper value, albeit minor. He knows the structure, he knows the plays, he just needs to focus on feeding others first. That's what got him here, his play-making ability for a full-sized guard. His highlight dunks, his 3-point stroke, his timely steals, all of that can come and go, I'm not hung up on those aspects of his game. But be a PG first and foremost, and lead your unit, soldier.
