Big time match up today as the road trip from hell continues.
D'Angelo Russell absolutely must rise to the challenge today of facing Donovan Mitchell and the Jazz. D'Angelo has been in a shooting slump this month with 38% from the field, 28% from 3PT land through 7 games, not good. Time for him to snap out of it, we need a big time game from him today and some floor leadership versus a Jazz team that is battling for playoff positioning in the West and is pretty good at home.
Russell needs to be efficient, mix up the threes with getting into the paint for the short jumpers, and keep the turnovers to 2 or less.
Also, Caris LeVert and Joe Harris need to step it up. They both have been inconsistent as of late as well, it all isn't on Russell.
Jarrett Allen needs to show some toughness today, he got bullied by Adams in our last contest, tonight it gets no easier as Gobert awaits.
Rodions Kurucs needs to continue to bring energy and good shooting. The Steal of the 2018 Draft has been shooting a blazing hot 47% from downtown this month to go along with 12ppg 5rpg. This is excellent production from the 20 year old. We'll need him tonight as well.
Not much else to say other than the Nets are
+8.5 dogs in this contest, and I'm putting my money down on the Nets tonight. Lets go!!!

I'd actually like to See russell on pitch count these next few games... maybe a game off or a couple in a row where he is capped at 20-25 minutes.
Ramp up leverts minutes, force feed him some touches/offense, see if it breaks him out of his slump while also maybe jumpstarting Caris a bit.
I estimate we are already going to make the playoffs with 36 wins so im more concerned about Russell, Caris being right then stealing road wins

No Crabbe for the back to back (geez this guy), but DMC, Bazz, and Graham are probable.
Who do we want taking that SG spot? I'm leaning towards Caris returning to his spot. We need him and Russell to figure this out if we're going to make a push for the playoffs and compete there.
But it's probably going to be Kenny's favorite Graham.

I think we should move Harris to the two, DMC to SF and leave rodi at PF.
I'm not against LeVert starting either. He really needs to get his mojo back.

I just don't want to take Carroll from his comfort and role. When healthy him, Spencer, Davis have been major advantage for us off the bench.
But I agree, I fear they put Graham back in and slide Rodi down again. Keep him at 4.

I feel like this is a game we can steal. We also kind of need to win this 1 because we have a back to back game tomorrow. Should be fun, will we flipping the channels back and forth to this and the boxing fight.

I don't think he should be on a minutes limit - our guys are pretty low there anyway but I do agree. He should have tomorrow off. And maybe sneak in a rest game either for Philly or Boston at the end of the month. Maybe one of our B2Bs at the end of the year if we're all set seeding wise.
Same with Ed Davis. He's been a work horse. I know these are crucial games but throwing Alan Williams out there for 15 minutes wouldn't be the end of the world.
Since Russell made the all star game, he didn't really have a break all year. We need him at 100%

I'm paying too much money for the fight to flip channels

I'm just gonna watch the Nets on my phone

From what I gather, opposing teams have been paying increased & special attention to Harris since around the break or so. I suspect the problem is not so much Harris needing to do anything more, it's in other players hopefully taking advantage of that shift... which would in turn take some of the focus off Harris.
Win-win, potentially.

This seems like a really smart take on the situation. Russell is perhaps somewhat tired judging from his shot efficiency, and IMO we need LeVert and DWid in prime form for the first round.

Nice stuff by Allen, but what the hell was happening on defense there?

Russell should be able to have a decent game tonight with Ricky's weak defensive ability.

Love the energy that Kurucs plays with, but he's got to be way smarter with his aggression on the defensive end.
