Is there any notable thing he did as an assistant GM for the Hawks?

Who knows? It's hard to contribute players to specific scout/ managers but Collins and Huerter are great finds.DeRoma wrote:Is there any notable thing he did as an assistant GM for the Hawks?
The surprising thing is he left the same position from hawks that he's going to with the Nets.

My few thoughts:
1- Kenny have big time impact on FO.
2- Jeff's resume looking ok to me.
3- I won't make any decisions on him until he shows us something. Kind of liking this hire since it's continuity to what Kenny had from years past.

Jk....I can't say anything about him until we see him work, but given what was released in the statement, my expectations are more of the same, i.e. greatness.

If Marks hired him, he's got to be damn good at what he does. I love it.

any chance we hire Tom Thibs as defensive asst coach..i think we need one. our defensive sets were horrible this year. maybe demote KA to asst coach and hire Tom Thibs as main coach.

Houston fired 4 coaches on their staff maybe Brooklyn picks one of them.

I didn't understand that part at all. Especially as he'll be co-assistant, which is arguably somewhat of a step down.
I wonder if this could possibly be prelude to Marks assuming a more exec position, with the expectation that one of these two new guys will transition to GM. It seems a little early for that on one hand, but maybe it's something Marks negotiated in his new contract.
Potential carrot for Marks, and a potential carrot for these two new guys.

He is a pretty damn good Basketball mind. It was clear he had differences in where the team should go from Travis. Fits Brooklyn more.

He might have left to gain more notoriety. The Nets being in a big market while being in the same system as the Hawks gives Assistant GM more flexibility and easier to gain success. Also multiple people in the same position doesn't necessarily means it's less responsibilty it also depends on how we go about our system. One might handle overseas and the other handles NCAA talent. There is also a position for a Assistant GM for our developmental league.
