Prince shot 39% from downtown last season on decent volume. He's also 6'8 220+. He is a perfect fit in this system

now tell me about our new cap situation

Great trade imo!

Salary dump Crabbe to open up 2 max slots(Dlo and Kyrie) and also get back a system fit stretch 4.

In a weak draft, I don't mind giving up #17. Prince fits our projected timeline anyway.

Cap wise, I think we’re out of the AD trade market.

My gut is Marks thinks we’re getting Kyrie and KD or Kyrie, DLo and Harris. Option 1 means DLo is gone. Option 2 means Dinwiddie. After waiving Napier and Graham, we should be about $48mil in space. I can check later tonight.

Prince is actually a solid wing - only reason I see us giving up the 2nd 1st rounder. He's been at 38-39% from 3 for the last 2 years on good volume. He's a big-ish wing with a 7 foot wing span. ATL didn't seem sold on his defense or decision making but I think he'll fit well with us. ATL's roster was tough the last few years for a guy like him.

I'm sure part of the thinking is that one of our picks this year might stay overseas or in the G-League for the year - effectively giving us a 1st rounder next year. With the 31st pick, we basically have a 2nd late 1st. It's not the same but it softens the blow. Whether the team is good or bad, it's important to keep the young guys coming in.

Does this legit give us enough money for 2 maxes? (non-KD) Can we still resign Dudley, Carroll, Davis to reasonable deals? Or does this move just give us the money for 1 max?

Good gamble in my eyes.

2019 IS the summer we must strike in order to elevate our team to title contender territory. If we fail, no problem continue the slow rebuild with this core group plus add a couple of good pieces(Tobias Harris for example.)

Prince is actually an excellent system fit for us and essentially takes over Carroll's role going forward. Only 25 also.
Kenny will definitely help him solidify his game. With the 17th pick I was hoping for someone similar to Prince so perfect move in that sense. 2020 lottery protected pick to dump Crabbe also seems like a fair shake.. remember the Lakers dumped Dlo to get rid of Mozgov... much steeper price.

Really love our position going into this summer. I think we can be SERIOUS players for Kyrie/KD/etc.

I like the acquisition a lot. Watched Prince at Baylor and saw a little bit of him this year while watching Trae Young. I think this is a sneaky, underrated move and worth the 17th pick.

I believe he can potentially be a reliable
3 & D for this team, too. Mark's is already at it and I'm loving every minute of it.
OKC Thunder fan, too.

I was so excited that we landed Prince initially forgot about the cap space aspect.

Yeah, we're not keeping Prince past this season. Will play some good ball for us though, he's a great fit.

Guys ojectively I'm like 70% sure we will having Kyrie and KD.
And I say objectively cause I don't want this scenario but it's the more probable.

Kyrie is really high on us per lot of people including WOJ.
If Kyrie comes here, KD too.

Are KD & Kyrie super tight or anything? I know they've been linked together because they're two of the best FAs in this class, but I don't think KD is a lock to follow Kyrie wherever he goes. It sure seems like Kyrie wants to come here, but max player #2 is still a massive question mark IMO.

They are friends
And if Kyrie is coming, where KD is going if it's not in Brooklyn with his All star friend ?

He could choose to stay in GS and kick everyone's asses for another couple years, who knows. While Kyrie's interest in us has been confirmed by multiple sources, I don't think anyone has insight into what KD is thinking right now.

I wonder what the protections are beyond that... I guess we'll have to wait and see...

"If the Nets' 2020 first-round pick falls in the protected range (picks No. 1 through 14) in 2020, Atlanta will get the Nets' lottery-protected first-round pick in 2021, sources told ESPN's Zach Lowe. The same will also happen in 2022 if the pick is still lottery protected in 2021, though after that, it will convert to two second-round picks."

I love this move even more now. If the nets take advantage of the cap space the way they are hoping to, no way the nets are in the lottery either of the next 2 years. Marks continues to amaze
