I think those that have kept up with he and his uncle's actions & behavior the past few years could say far, far worse.

Latest news is that he may have violated the CBA (with Toronto), according to SAS. Also, it seems the NBA is now opening a free agent tampering investigation into this offseason's activities, with Kawhi likely front & center in that business.

we need to hope this tampering investigation goes nowhere because the Nets might get in trouble too if the league wants to actually take action.

Crazy how it's unfolded in to a three or four-part investigation at the least, based on this summer's shizzle.

But Kawhi / (uncle) Dennis Robertson's particular transgression(s) seems to have involved making a series of batshit-crazy compensation demands upon TOR, completely crossing CBA terms, for starters.

Meanwhile, what's the worst anyone can say about the Nets? That we recruited an enthusiastic DWiddie (etc) to help talk to various stars, and help seal the deal? Maybe that's disingenuous, or 'wrong,' but it's also completely playing by the rules of the CBA, no?

According to the rules, players cannot talk to other players under contract to influence them about changing teams. Technically, this would mean that no player would be allowed to talk to another about free agency and the future until free agency actually begins. The league recognizes that this is impossible to enforce so they actively turn a blind eye to this.

What rubbed a lot of teams the wrong way was that Kawhi influenced PG, a player under contract (and one who had a long term deal at that) to request a trade to join him in his new destination. That's unprecedented and really took the leniency of the rule that hasn't been enforced to a whole new level.

The NBA can't enforce this stuff. what are they going to do, subpoena player text messages or wire tape players conversations?

tough titty. The Clippers and the Nets tampered with players. OH WELL.

I remember what the Lakers did back in 96 with Shaq and then Kobe Bryant was in the draft back in the day. they literally tampered with both players. no one cared then, why do they care now? **** the rules. I hope the Nets keep tampering.

Lakers tampered with AD and ended up getting him. Everyone who is mad at the Nets for tampering with KD and Kyrie can kiss my ass.
