Figured we needed a clean space for the draft tonight.
IMPORTANT-Do NOT post the picks here before they are announced on the live broadcast/made at the podium. we know twitter has it first, if we wanted to know 90 seconds in advance we would go to twitter... dont be that guy. that is really it for ground rules, dont ruin it for everyone else.

If we can select a possible Eurostash bigman like Samanic, Smailigic or Bitadze at 27, I'd be thrilled. We need a backup C that can bang and fits the system. BUT, just in case our capspace math gets tricky for signing max FA's, we need to be able to wipe that $2mil off the books for a season by keeping him overseas for development.
At 31, my dream is Ty Jerome. He's rumored to be going in the 15-25 range, so it'd be lucky, but I'd love his fit on this team. He could be a backup PG, but also works off-ball through screens a bit like fellow Cavalier alum Joe does.
CAN'T WAIT!

I like what I've seen of him, seems like a high upside pick in that range. Obviously bust potential is high too but at this point, we can afford to take the risk.

i dont think you can actually be a bust at 27 or 31. expectation is long shot/bench player/career 10th man

I’m 100% on board with Bruno Fernando at 27 if available. Going by BPA strategy, the pick could be Kevin Porter Jr.
My realistic short list at 27:
- Bruno Fernando
- Cam Johnson
- Grant Williams
- Charles Bassey
- Tyler Herro
I think we will attempt to trade up to land Bol Bol, though. It sounds like that is the idea of who we would envision at the backup C spot which is a priority now that Ed Davis won’t return.
I think we would be better off landing a backup C or another shooter if we aren’t landing one of the talented bigs.

Great trade by NO. They got some luck but I don't think you can do better than they have with a super star leaving town.
Zion, Jrue, Ingram, Ball, Hart is a decent enough start to a rotation.
Now add #8 and #17, they will probably grab a center and another solid rotation piece. Plus cap room. Plus the Lakers future picks.
At some point they can probably flip Jrue for a pick or two in the next few years.

I think we should wait until we get an actual agreement that KD and Kyrie is coming ...

There are 3 clusters of players that i'm intrigued by tonight:
1. Lotto players who slip (may need a trade up) - I'm talking Clarke, Bitadze, PJ Washington, Little, Rui. Some of those guys have abilities that could project really well to our system. Does Marks like someone enough to make an aggressive move up if they end up in the same range where Jarrett Allen slipped to?
2. Bigs projected in our range - Saminic, Kabengale, Grant Williams, Okeke, Claxton - these guys are among the most commonly linked players to us. All have interesting skill sets.
3. Wings (or guards) in our range - Bazley is the hot name with upside, but also Dort, Windler, Jerome. Or maybe someone like the USC guy slips.
I'm hoping we end up with 2 of the above. This draft truly seems to have more depth 15-35 than any of the last few years.

Suns acquire Saric, #11 for #6 to Minnesota.

I love this trade for Minnesota if they make the right pick. I don't know who the right pick is this year, but they have a history of botching picks in the mid-lottery.
The 11 is often a solid pick as well and I like Saric, but I feel like they could have done better.
How weird is it that the 3 teams who all want DLo have been trading with each other all day today?

Also, could this setup the 11 for Dinwiddie? I don't know that Dinwiddie will be dealt, at least today and I don't necessarily want him dealt, but the value and the destination make some sense.
