I was surprised at the pick, Kenny doesn't normally go for average-sized PG's. But I hear Joe Tsai has been following Hands for awhile, so it makes sense. Still, on his own merit, Jaylen is a pretty smooth young player. Similar to D'angelo in this respect, converting turnovers into assists would unlock his potential, and if anyway can coach that, it's Atkinson.

Does this mean we are trading Dinwiddie for more cap space? Asking for a friend...

He can shoot but it looks like he has trouble getting past his defender... we'll make a better judgement in summer league

This guy is Russell Westbrook without size. Which kind of a big deal consider how small he is. He does have a potential to be 6th man though.

That's a comparison I saw a couple of times. And I kinda see it. He plays with a certain rhythm that is very similar to Russ'. Jump shot even looks a bit similar in form. Not sure if his body would hold up playing like Westbrook given the size difference, but you never now. Should be an interesting G League prospect.

He looks like a good prospect but nowhere near as explosive as Westbrook.

Markel Brown was an undersized SG without a reliable shot. This kid has way better handles

that being said, I know I really shouldn't go by that footage of him versus Sexton in what seems like some of those junk leagues these D1 level prospects play in, but dude looked like he had trouble getting past Sexton multiple times.

The front office saw something in him to draft him, so I'm giving him a chance. You write people off way too quickly dude

he was taken 54th... its not like the choice was between him and RJ Barrett... we had to take someone and whoever we took was going to be a long shot to make it in the league

less then 5% of players taken 50-60 the past 15 years are on NBA rosters.

He’s athletic, fast, good shooter and pretty nice handles. However, I don’t think he’s a natural PG. He’s not a good passer and cannot create opportunities for his teammates. I see him as a microwave 6th man (ceiling) or a 3rd string PG (floor). But for the 56th, a great pick indeed.

like I said, based on the footage posted in this thread I was not really impressed by him but I will root for him to do his best.
