Wow, they got him for peanuts. Unless he gets hurt or bombs out this year, some team was going to max him or damn close. Amazing value.

Given his injury concerns and overall nunbers, you really think so? I'm not so sure... Regardless, I'm happy he's back, on paper he can be the perfect complement to Kyrie.

This is as good as we could have hoped. I'm really happy this deal got done before the season too. If this dude started balling out and showed signs of being a big time threat again, we would've had him probably waiting to test the waters in FA. And the deal kicks in for the 20-21 season too. He could easily be the leading scorer on any given night, can handle ball handling duties, and plays hard defense. Love this guy and what he can give us.

I think Levert is the next big breakout candidate, and honestly, think he's got a better future in line than a guy like Jason Tatum.

I'm super happy right now!

Wow. We locked him up on his birthday. Sean Marks is a legend in the making with these steals.

Really happy with this deal. If he stays healthy and breaks out this year, this will end up looking like an amazing contract for us. Can't wait to see what he can do this coming season.

This will be talked about for years to come. Absolute bargain. The best part is as a FA at 28 he still be able to command a 4yr 80m deal. I don't care what other people on this board think. Caris is going to be the next big thing.

The Marksman never misses.

He will outplay the value of this contract. Watch.

solid contract by marks.... only 3 yars and just over 15-17 million per. Thats solid team friendly value and minimal years. wonder if year 3 is a team option also?

It also works as trade bait if another big star wants to join up with Irving and Durant. Obviously though, I would like to see LeVert remain here but the option is now on the table.

Agreed.... and in general we now have a team full of outstanding contracts:

Kurucs, Allen, Musa, Claxton all on rookie deals with 2+ years left.

Levert, Dinwiddie both on team friendly extensions

Durant/Kyrie on slightly less then the max and on 4 year deals

Jordan is the only one who is really not a great deal and even at 10 million per thats not awful especially if he bounces back being motivated.

Good deal for both sides. Really happy we have LeVert locked in for another 3 yrs.

This off season has been the stuff of dreams.

This is a perfectly reasonable take, indicative of what NBA contracts would typically look like with a higher level of sanity IMO.

LeVert's going to be either a really nice bargain or not, depending on his ability to stay healthy. Kyrie's in a similar place IMO. Hopefully all goes well with them both, but the only guarantee is that they get paid, regardless.

...

You also have to think that Prokhy helping with the Brooklyn move and stadium, and Marks investing as much as he did in staff and culture are now leading to some serious paybacks in terms of bargain contracts and the league's players wanting to play here. What went around, came back.

Now it's almost an unfair dream scenario, altho of course preceded by years of muddling through a wasteland. (sorry, not sorry)

Yeap, looks like the Nets are pretty much everything the Knicks ever wanted to be at this point. Maybe time to do a name swap...? :P

For how much Marks has overpaid for similar types in free agency (Crabbe,Porter, Bazemore...) he has been excellent with regards to guys already on the team. I'm not saying we make a move but if we did Spencer, Harris, Levert are all on VE?RY solid/moveable contracts.

See , this is exactly what I've BEEN saying, sign this dude up now before he becomes an All star and we have to full max him out. Marks is a genius. I would of tried to get him for a little cheaper given his injury history and he hasn't been as consistent yet but I can't complain too much about this, I know Levert will break out some time soon and this will be his year. Now we don't have to worry about his contract situation after this year, niceeee. Now extend Allen and Prince.

i think the 3 years instead of 4 is worth more then saving 2 million or so. In that regards Marks did really well

Well, we can't extend Jarrett until July 1st, 2020.

As for Taurean, I think he'll have to prove himself here before we offer an extension. That means next summer, he'll be an RFA. He needs to improve as a defender and rebounder while keeping his 3PT% high, in order to lock down his role with us. I'm looking forward to Prince in a prove-it year.
