Nets wrap up the road trip tonight in Chicago without Caris and Kyrie.

Who steps up behind Dinwiddie tonight?

Man if we lose to the Bulls even without Kyrie, its gonna be an uphill battle.

Need this win mentally to get back on track.

Will be tough to win while missing so many key players.

Nonetheless, this is a great opportunity for the "others" to step up and show what they got with the extra minutes being available.

Curious to see today's rotations. I wonder if Musa or Clax get to start.

We might win but we’ll make it hard on ourselves.

Now is the winter of our discontent. Or at least, we’re close to winter. Let’s get into it:

JARRETT ALLEN VS. WENDELL CARTER – Opposing styles will clash in the middle. I favor Jarrett’s superior length and experience, though Wendell is a smart, bruising force.

TAUREAN PRINCE VS. LAURI MARKKANEN – Prince should be able to focus on guarding Markkannen mostly on the perimeter, and run his opposition through screens on the offensive end for open looks. Lauri is a giftted stretch big, but doesn’t yet pass effectively out of good on-ball defense. Fortunately, that’s TP’s one ace card.

JOE HARRIS VS. CHANDLER HUTCHINSON – Otto Porter’s absence is our come-up. It’s been awhile since Joe-sus has had a clear, decisive advantage in his H2H. Hutchinson has shown flashes of perimeter scoring ability, but isn’t feared as a defender or slasher. Get-right game for Harris, time to punch up those numbers.

GARRETT TEMPLE VS. ZACH LAVINE – Call me crazy, I’m not quaking in my boots about this matchup. Zach is a physical marvel, and sponsors a EuroStep 5K for charity on every fast break. However, a focused defender like Temple can minimize his efficiency. Also, Zach is known to gamble for steals, so if we can secure the ball in and out of Garrett’s hands, he can drop assists for easy buckets.

SPENCER DINWIDDIE VS. TOMAS SATORANKSY – Irving is tired and ailing with a shoulder impingement, so Spencer gets the starting nod. Finally, some load management. It may not be palatable in the moment, and we NEED a win, but we must take the longview with our stars. There’s no sense in burning out Ky now, only to lose him for 25 games with a more serious repetitive stress injury later. Anyway, Tomas is a long and crafty floor general. It is fortunate that we have such an elite backup PG, who is comfortable upscaling usage (that’s nice way to say “ballhog”) as the situation demands. I still like us in this head-to-head, but it does dramatically weaken our bench. Speaking of…

Our bench has experience over Chicago’s, but Thaddeus Young (another former Net) is the wildcard. If they use him at both the 3 and 4, we may not have an answer. DAYUM, we could really use a solid 20min of ’18-’19 Rodi tonight. Coby White is gunning for a Rising Stars berth, but for all his PG wizardry, I don’t see him game translating to wins quite yet. This alleged Harden-stopper named David Nwaba could come in handy.

Kenny has to out-coach Boylen. I won’t even bother to break this down, he just HAS to own his counterpart here. Out-flank, out-gun, out-man, out-prepare, out-everything him. No excuses, and no sleep ‘til we go home on a positive note.

PREDICTION: NETS 98, BULLS 87

Iman Shumpert will very likely make his Nets debut tonight. He’s rocking #10.

Likely looking at a 4 game losing streak after this. No Kyrie hurts us big time, even with the way he had been shooting.

How was that a foul on Allen?

Allen is the anti-Dinwiddie; he never complains about calls.

We definitely take Joe Harris’s BBIQ for granted. He’s way more than a spot-up 3pt shooter.

our post entry was great last game and looks to be carrying over. getting jay in a position where he only needs to go up with it and making sure those passes are on the money is key.

This next four to five weeks Musa better show up for us. We really going to need him to step up.
