Nets vs. Kings 7:30pm EST 11/22/2019. TV: YES Network

Fox: Out
Bagley: Out
Bogdanovic: Questionable (Hamstring)

Irving & Levert both listed as Out for the nets...

Like our chances if bogs sits.... if not, another tough game where we will need to figure out offense outside of Dinwiddie. Dedmon has hurt us in the past. hopefully he isnt draning 3s like curry.

Last years insane comback:

Another injury-riddled team hobbles into Brooklyn. The Sacramento Kings had high hopes for this season, but a rocky start (0-5), PED suspension in the frontcourt (Bagley) and an injury to their star PG (Fox) have derailed plans for the time being. They’re still integrating some high-dollar FA’s into their rotation (Dedmon, Ariza), and have bounced back admirably over the past week. Sound familiar? Let’s get into it:

JARRETT ALLEN VS. RICHAUN HOLMES – Our gentle giant is quietly emerging as a top-10 C in the league. 3rd year is make-or-break for most prospects, and at times during our last road trip, it looked like the latter for Jarrett. He’s come out of his funk with a bounce in his step, and renewed confidence finishing through traffic and contact. Richaun is undersized and underheralded, but burly and efficient. Hopefully, the Allen Domination Tour keeps rolling.

TAUREAN PRINCE VS. NEMANJA BJELICA – A tricky matchup for Prince, Bjelica plays good team defense, and sticks to his strength offensively: shooting the 3-ball. The talent disparity is minimal if anything, but Taurean would do well to learn how to be a star in his role from Nemanja.

JOE HARRIS VS. HARRISON BARNES – Team USA buds square off here, and I have Barnes with the advantage. He’s great making backdoor cuts, which is one of Joe’s many defensive weaknesses. Although perhaps in our favor, Harrison is missing a PG who can properly pick out those passes. Still, I expect him to bully Joe with mid-post offense, a throwback to his GS days.

GARRETT TEMPLE VS. BUDDY HIELD – Buddy is a marksman extraordinaire, and coach Luke Walton has placed more responsibility to run the offense in his hands, even before De’Aaron’s injury. He calls his own number a ton, and works through screens well to find open looks from long range. Fortunately, we have a couple of ex-Kings on our current roster, who *should* provide resistance in close-outs. Temple has bounced around the league, but had his greatest success as a secondary playmaker and glue guy in Sacto. Look for this to be more of reunion than a rivalry game for him.

SPENCER DINWIDDIE VS. CORY JOSEPH – Cory has been a supersub for most of his career, but is thrust into starting duty. He doesn’t have Spencer’s all-around offensive game, but can be an effective leader especially defensively. It will be interesting to see whose game dictates the style of play for all 8 other players on the floor. My money’s on Spence, no cryptocurrency.

The Kings have a deep bench, and are searching for playmaking answers. If we can get a few penetrating passes from 3 of DJ, Rodi, Dzanan, Theo, David and Iman, we should be able to go toe-to-toe with them. Bogdan Bogdanovic is the X-factor (listed as questionable), he’s been on fire lately so slowing him down will be important.

Luke comes from a different coaching tree than Kenny, and they have had different paths to success. Both as well-respected among their peers, and teams of both have produced impressive and head-scratching results. Adjusting to another coach’s scheme is a honed skill for both, but in order to win at the highest level, you have to bring the fight to the opposition, not just react to it. You have to constantly throw wrinkles at the other team, some of it will work and other stuff will flop. The coach who makes more mistakes will win this matchup.

PREDICTION: NETS 120, KINGS 118

Kings bench, like ours, looks alot worse with Fox and Bagley out... I dont think they will start small vs. the Nets, I think Dedmon starts and he has had alot of success against both Allen and the Nets...

IF Bogs plays, like i said, thats a tough one. I also doubt you will see harris on Barnes, thats probably prince with Harris on Holmes/ or Bjelicia

we need to find a way to score when dinwiddie sits. it would be a good time for Musa to find his stroke

Winnable game for both teams. We need to play with high intensity for ALL 48 mins.

Kings are banged up too but they are very solid squad. Tough game.

We should be aiming to win these next three games. There are about as winnable as it gets for an aspiring playoff team and championship contender.

We should come out with some defensive focus and intensity regardless of being shorthanded. I don’t care how we win but let’s just try to knock off these next 3 games before the Boston mini series.

We really cannot afford to drop this game. Hoping Dinwddie can destroy Cory Joseph.

And Allen should feast.
