Great. What could be better than being blown out on national television by the Lakers.

I'll be interested to see whether Kyrie plays. Any news about KD seems to always be tied to Kyrie's condition. I for one do not believe in the hamstring issue, I feel it might be internal strife. Irving wants to play, if for no other reason than to legitimize his probably All-Star starter selection. His per-game production certainly merits his place, but IF he doesn't get the vote, coaches may not select him due time missed from injuries.

Looks like Kyrie, Chandler are back and DJ is upgraded to Questionable/GTD.

As for the game itself, I hope that NYK pushes them to the limit tonight. We'll be on 3 days' rest versus 1 for LAL, and that *may* play a factor. We also have a penchant for pulling out unlikely W's, especially on the heels of rough patches.

Allen needs to dominate his matchup, for us to have a chance. He's got to want to not only function at a high level, but obliterate his competition.

Prince is gonna get ATE UP, hopefully Kenny comes to his senses and keep him far, FAR away from the Lakers' 1st unit. Kurucs or even Claxton would be a better matchup for Davis.

Joe versus the Volcano is never going to be a winning strategy. Limiting LeBron's playmaking effectiveness and making him work on the other end is the key. I want to see Joe running at breakneck pace through screens, and taking guarded 3's like there is no tomorrow. As for defense, Joe needs to be a pest, and WE CANNOT SEND EXTRA HELP. If Taurean or Garrett start helping off of their man to bother LBJ, he's too good at carving up defenses with corner shooters. Before long, we're overrating and still giving up easy layups, and the infighting will beat us even more than the Lakers do. I repeat, let LeBron drive on Joe all day, and do not send help. It's our only hope.

Garrett doesn't have a marquee defensive assignment, and that's great. He's not an elite one-on-one stopper, BUT his value is in orchestrating stingy, cohesive team defense, which is critical for this game.

Kyrie needs to play, so that Spencer can get back to doing his most impactful work off the bench and closing out games with energy. Irving is not going to be able to finish efficiently among the Lakers' interior defense, BUT he can get to the rim. He's going to need to pick out penetrating passes once the defense collapses on him, and in this case, 2's are better than 3's. Our system is predicated on drive-and-kick to long-range shooters, but despite the volume we're not hitting them at an acceptable clip. ALSO, the advantage of interior passing is in getting to the FT line, and getting LA players' into foul trouble. We would then control the tempo make or miss, and they would have to guard us more conservatively at the end of the game.

I have high hopes for us, SO... my prediction is: NETS 118, LAKERS 141

This team has no heart I expect a blowout loss.

I hope so. National TV, Kyrie is playing, and after this is a batch of games vs non playoff teams. If we lose in poor fashion the media is going to tear Kyrie to shreds.

I honestly don't even know if i want to watch. this is how jaded I am right now. usually i'd be pumped for a national tv game.

Kind of dreading this one with it being a national TV game...

The outcome of this game will decide whether or not I renew my league pass for the next month. I'll still follow the Nets and watch the highlights but with my tight budget I'm not going to pay $20 AUD a month to watch games that overwhelmingly make me feel negative.

Well, foof. You really think so?

Hard for me to believe the Nets would screw around with that kind of thing, i.e. injury announcements.

Also, last thing we were hearing was that Kyrie reached out to teammates in a clarifying effort. Now yeah, I get that NBA fans are enjoying stirring the pot on this stuff, but I see very little of substance.

I don't blame you one bit bro. I'm coming away from these games feeling bad, which is not a good thing. I might take a break myself if we get humiliated tonight, I have been hitting the gym hard in the evenings and I have other things to do so watching such low effort content from the Nets makes me feel unproductive on top of being down about how things are.

Everyone should pray for Jarrett Allen. He's going to get a steady dose of AD, McGee, and Dwight. Hopefully, he can hold his own.

I know, it's kind of a tin-foil conspiracy theory. My antenna raised with the off-rhythm timing of the announcement, and since we never saw a twinge of hamstring pain from Kyrie in the last game he played. I hope I'm wrong.

I think it is riddiculous that the nets would conjure a fake injury due to some internal strife, especially when we are so strong internally. Kyrie missed 25 games then came back on big minutes.... Hamstring injuries are most common in this scenario, when players return from long layoffs.

the all-star think is a complete non-issue id imagine

it makes sense to sit him even if he is able to go.... the way the schedule spaces out it would give him a full week of rest before the pistons game

i dont see the low effort stuff... the one thing this team does is play as hard as any team in the NBA. i get being frustrated with loses but playing good teams without your best players wont get you many wins. injuries are a setback but overall we are in outstanding shape moving forward. we have a huge cushion for the 8 seed despite having pinson and musa try and shoulder some load for us.

i think perspective is needed. bandwagon will remain open for when we reach .500 again

Yikes, rough time to lose both back up Centers. Lakers will destroy us on the boards.

Gonna need Allen to step up.
