I wish that leap year meant something different.

All pessimism aside, I look at this team and I see a squad capable of winning or losing by 20 to ANYONE. The Heat have cooled off since the turn of the calendar, although they seem to always have an edge when they face us. Maybe it's not us, though; maybe it's just the way that they play. I hate to admit, but I'd be a TON more comfortable with our situation and even our W-L record, given injuries and other issues, if we played as hard as Miami.

I'm expecting a loss here, but I want our guys to keep their heads up during this final 1/3 of the season. Getting back to .500 is unrealistic, and even 38-44 seems a far cry, but we can play every game like it's our last. Team defense, confident passes, finishing with strength around the rim, diving first for loose balls, I want it all.

PREDICTION: MIAMI 145, NETS 129
