He's projected to fall into the second round but you can't ignore the athletic ability, wingspan or the fact that he's 6'7 235. I hope we can get him in for a workout.

Naji Marshall out of Xavier looks good for a 2nd round pick. 6'7 with a good shot and he's a good playmaker.

Aaron Nesmith
Josh Green
Saddiq Bey

Actually I like Tyler Bey a lot too, way underrated. Probably would slot him in either right above, or below Williams.

I liked Williams a lot a month or so ago when I started researching the draft more, but I'm starting to look at him as a super raw, overrated prospect who will be a nice NBA player 7 years from now once he's on his 3rd team and it finally clicks. He has stays way too upright on D, has clunky feet and mediocre lateral speed.

Same goes for Vassell, but at least he can shoot the lights out and is assertive. Vassell couldn't get past Vucecic 40 feet from the hoop though, his first step is tragic and his handle is meh. I get we're not looking for some stud ball dominator, but the guy is going to get trapped like crazy and then he'll be a walking turnover. Have to look at the now as well as the future.

Yes, I'm hoping that Nesmith falls to us, and that we take him. I know that r don't need another wing, but his shooting and 1v1 defense are special. I liken him to a poor man's Klay. He'll never be a jack of all trades, but he's the type of 3&D specialist that could claim an immediate role, and has upside to grow with the franchise.

I know that our front office is gaga over Saddiq, and I understand the hype. He thrived in a similar system to our former one, who knows for sure whether Nash has a different philosophy to implement. His shooting is lethal, but he brings no defensive upside IMO and his rebounding is suspect.

Yeah Williams isn't a sure shot but then again nobody is coming out of college.
I fell in love with his athleticism but who knows how he'll work out.
There's gonna be a bunch of small forwards for the team to choose from some with more experience like Tyler Bey who I think has a good chance with the Nets bc of his age and experience.
I think of him as more of a defensive role player one mock had him going in the 2nd round.
Maybe they pick 2 thinking one can play guard the other small forward. I wouldt mind them paying cash for another 2nd round pick and getting a big like Vernon Carey Jr.

I watched some YouTube videos to catch up on the draft prospects especially since there were no tournaments. I gotta check out Vassell.

Nesmith would be a good choice he's asolid 213 pound 20 year old while Vassell is a slender 194 pounds at 19.

Saddiq Bey isn't one of my favorites watch him turn out to be a star.

Checkout Josh Green too, you’ll be impressed.

I’m honestly unsure why he isn’t currently ranked higher on most big boards and mocks.

A lot of times it’s cause they’re ignoring the older guys, but with this draft, pretty much everyone is a freshman or sophomore, so young dudes will fall.

Nesmith is just relentless running around off screens without the ball and is deadly once he gets the shot. Definitely shades of Klay Thompson.

I’m definitely a fan of Saddiq Bey as well, his defense concerns me at the next level though, as does his impact in a lesser role with less usage.

Another player that looks good for a 2nd round pick is Mamdi Kiate out of Virginia. 24 year old 6'9 player originally from Guinea.

He can shoot, he would be a good fit here. He'll need to put on about 20 lbs of muscle though eventually.

yea i think it said he weighs 225 .? thats way too light. But he does add a different skill set then what we have at center so i guess.

at 6'10 225, he would be a stretch 4 on our roster. small ball 5. I really would like this pick.

however, Jarrett Allen is 6'11, 245.

I wouldn't ship Allen out of town yet. There's no reason why we wouldn't draft this kid to be in the PF rotation with KD and Prince (we should really move Prince to SF).

I'm leaning more towards the camp that wants to return our full roster next season plus MLE, #19 and vet minimums. I don't think we need to make trades unless it's for an all star level talent.

-I'm not sold on Nic Claxton yet.

-If we resign Harris, keep Dinwiddie and Allen we have a really loaded squad. we would just need to spend the MLE on a player that can defend spots 2, 3, and 4 when needed. No one is stopping our death line up anyway.

I feel very confident if we can maintain health through the season.

yea i thought about him being a 4 too because of his shooting, i just don't know if he's laterally quick enough to defend the 4s of today, maybe he is though that would be even better. And if he can switch defensively and guard 3-5s then this would be a solid pick.

If Allen is 245 and we think he's still too skinny then this dude definitely isn't a center yet, only small ball like you said.

I'm definitely sold on Claxton, but it's going to take another year and playing with KD at practice will only make him better. I definitely think he'll be a rotation player someday, maybe in year 4. But for now he's not going to get the minutes.

I agree with you though, I would really like Jrue and others but i really wouldn't mind keeping all of our guys, I love all of them honestly. And plus we would have sooooo much depth, when KD and Kyrie rests we'll still be able to keep pace in the east.

Like you said, we just need 2-3 guys that can defend the wings and on switches and I'll be fine. We'll definitely get a guy on the MLE that can do that and hopefully a solid veteran for the vet min. I like Dunn, Mo harkless, Jae Crowder, Ennis, Bazemore, etc.. I'll take a flier on a guy like Josh jackson.

I think having depth will be crucial also because Kyrie and KD aren't going to play 82 games, and we don't know what DeAndre will look like as father time begins to kick his ass. We can maintain a loaded roster, make a mid season move if the opportunity arises especially if the value of our guys outside of KD and Kyrie skyrocket (and they will), and there will be also buyout season past the trading deadline so we are going to land some solid vet min ring chasers for sure.

All things considered, we have probably the best outlook of any team in the East next to Miami, who most likely will add a max player to their roster.

I'll be interested to see whether RJ Hampton is on the board when we pick.

I know we don't need another ball-handler currently, but IF we trade for a 3rd All-Star, we may need some 2nd unit playmaking. I like his studious approach to the game, even if his shot motion and other aspects are a bit sketchy.
