I'm expecting the Nets to probably run a bunch of stretch 5 lineups(KD, Green, Kurucs) depending on matchups/game scenarios.

Can easily see 3 guards + Harris + KD at the 5...
For example: Kyrie - LeVert/Din - Shamet - Harris - KD. Not a lot of defense there but good luck guarding that team if everyone is shooting/playing well.

Can also run a bigger lineup too: Kyrie, Harris, KD, Green/Prince, Allen/DJ. That kind of lineup offers good balance b/ween offense(shooting/at the rim) couple with defense.

Either way, this roster can be flexible af with the only probable weakness being wing defense but I think we'll be fine. The defensive numbers overall actually weren't terrible last season and the roster is better/healthier. Good news is we have capital to make a minor/major move to address whatever is needed.

There's going to encourage Allen to take threes. I think he absolutely should.

Don't sleep on my pet cats in Nic and Rodi. Din made it, I really have high hope on other two.
Its great KD came out and cleared the air. His a vet and best player, its his team and he had only great stuff to say about our players. Din close with Kyrie and KD like Caris, I'm so exited what these guys going to do. Our players also going to be fresh ones this season kicks in.

In speaking with Complex’s “Load Management” podcast, Shams Charania said the Nets were not willing to include Caris LeVert in a trade for Jrue Holiday last month because Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving “view Caris LeVert as a very significant part of this team.”

“Brooklyn looked into it, but they obviously didn’t want to trade a guy like Caris LeVert for Jrue Holiday. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving view Caris LeVert as a very significant part of this team.”

The Athletic writer also said he does not see any Rockets’ interest in trading James Harden to any team “in the next month,” that in fact Houston hasn’t even engaged in detailed discussions ... and that includes the Nets.

“Brooklyn, there’s not the pieces on that team to get a deal done that Houston would feel is applicable for a guy like James Harden.” Charania told Zach “Chopz” Frydenlund, Adam Caparell, and Zion Olojede. In general, he said “talks never progressed” between Rockets and any team. Houston doesn’t want to trade Harden, but if they have to, they want a “star level or high level rotation player” plus multiple first round picks and swaps.

Welp. We will run with what we have.

I still say we should have traded for Covington.

I'm not really sure why during Kenny's time he was limited so much, we absolutely needed anything from him on offense during stretches. If he steps up his passing and 3pt shots... I'll be one of the first ones to lead the group with start Allen over DJ. DJ is what he is, Allen is open book with a lot to gain.

They can forget "star level." Unless it involves toxic contracts, stars don't get traded for stars. "High level rotation player" is very vague.

Yep. I understand the market has dictated that multiple firsts are getting sent out in deals, but they're not getting comparable talent back.

I wouldnt have made that Covington deal. i think he is being enormously overrated. he is an excellent role player and 3&D wing/F but he isnt a DPOTY type or some unreal shooter. id rather wait for something better, even if we cant swing it.

I feel like a Covington or PJ Tucker is what this roster is really missing. A dog that will get physical with 3s and 4s.

I'm pretty sure Marks is holding the line for Harden. I'm not mad at him. Hopefully our team defensive scheme will hold up.

I think that Caris LeVert needs to take a step forward this season defensively. He won't be asked to carry the load offensively and will be off the ball if he is in the starting five. I think he needs to lock in on being a defender. No excuse for him not to be a factor on the defensive end and taking on the better match up between him and Joe. KD will be defending the 4 spot.

I think he needs to take a step forward offensively. He needs to be more consistent which he has struggled with and gets tougher without consistent touches. he needs to show he can impact the game offensively with 8 shots the same way he can with 18 shots. that means more in transition, more from the wing/corner on catch and shoot threes, and much better finishing at the rim.

Smart man, I hop Caris LeVert had the same thoughts.

It will be interesting to see how this offense works. The difference between the Nets and the Phoenix Suns that predated them is that the Nets have two elite half court scorers in the line up.

Kyrie is going to feast on those drag screens in transition.

To me, Jarrett Allen is a better fit for this style of play than DeAndre.

I've been asking for this since the beginning of his 2nd year. As I've said many times before, what has frustrated me about Allen was his or the coaching staff's lack of desire to realize his potential.

Marc Gasol added a three-point shot late in his career. Plus, we've actually seen Jarrett take corner 3s in warmups. I know he has the ability to do so more and I really hope this coaching staff can get him to be a threat from even just 1 spot outside the paint.
