Our problem is not just we have weak rebounders...we can’t catch, and we just look so slow in terms of our reaction time. A bunch of loose balls that turn into wild scrambles when just some better reaction time and better hands would have secured us an easy possession.

Poor close to the half after a nice 8-0 run. Harden needs to play a lot better than he is, he's settling way too much for those stepback 3s which are not going down. He turned down a screen from DJ to jack a deep step back 3 that badly missed, and the momentum changed after that.

He's a pretty decent bench scorer who can get really hot.

He’s legit.

A scoring combo guard off the bench. Destroyed the Clippers last season and Doc remembered him when deciding to take the job.

This roster make up is so bad. Marks is not working fast enough to get us legitimate help. He wasted two roster spots on guys Nash isn't going to play.

IIRC, Nash said that they’re treating the regular season as training camp. If that’s true, it could very well be a while before we start seeing any semblance of consistency.

I’m very bothered by any notion that the entire regular season is essentially just a warm up practice for the postseason. Sure, there are teams that are built for the playoffs, but things we struggle with (I.e. defense, turnovers) have to be addressed during the regular season. You cannot simply expect to flip a switch and go from a undisciplined, terrible defending team to a defensive juggernaut. Those things are built over a season.

I’ve been waiting to see genuine progress on certain issues. Our talent is a curse and a blessing, because the Nets can always believe that they’re a KD-Kyrie-Harden explosion away from scoring 10-12 points in 2 minutes. While it’s true that that can be done, they need to work towards making it a regular thing than just assume it’ll come whenever they need it.

We have to develop better habits defensively if we can ever hope to win a title. That means at some point we have to get some consistency in the regular season. I don't believe in flipping switches.

Harden has won games with less talent than this. We should be able to pull this out if we continue to scrap and make the extra pass when Harden finds an open man.

I’d like to see Pelle with Harden, Joe and Green as well after that stint in the first half.

Agreed. I never cared about where we started. As long as I see continued improvement, I can trust things will be alright.

But the problem is rebounding has been an issue since Day 1 and the Harden trade made us worse by giving up Allen, who wasn’t even that great of a rebounder but just the best we had.

I’m going to give Marks the benefit of the doubt, since he just pulled off one of the biggest in-season trades in history. And with much fewer assets, he needs to make sure that whomever he surrounds the Big 3 with via the buyout market is the best piece possible. If it takes time for him to find the right deal and/or right player, so be it. But if the buyout window and trade deadline comes and goes without further changes, I’ll be upset.

Remember, right after the trade, Marks was asked if the roster was final, and he (almost defiantly) said absolutely not. I think he was alluding to the belief that we’re still missing some pieces and any potential buyout suitors watching should make themselves available when buyout season comes.

I truly hope I’m reading the tea leaves with this.
