Re: Shams: Nets sign Andre Roberson
We do a lot of four out. He can’t play with a big. Possibly with Brown if he’s still athletically capable of cutting. Hopefully his defensive abilities haven’t deteriorated. But also it cost nothing to see we’re he’s at.
Good signing. Not game changing. Doubtful if it was during the off-season but midseason a great choice.

Re: Shams: Nets sign Andre Roberson
Needed a legit wing who could defend. Roberson brings that. Will probably get spot mins eventually depending on matchup/injuries. If he actually plays well, probably replaces TLC in the rotation.
Only thing the team is missing now is another big as an alt to DJ. I'm a Claxton truther but he hasn't proven himself to stay healthy. Hopefully we can get someone like McGee or Noel.(No thanks to Drummond)

Good signing! Now, does waiving Pelle mean that we're targeting a big?

Re: Shams: Nets sign Andre Roberson
Wonder what the rotation is going to look like now. Can't have him and Brown together on the floor, right? Is he even gonna get minutes, especially with Shamet starting to look good now and Tyler Johnson getting burn?
All of these recent bargain bin signings... Vonleh, Pelle, Shumpert, and now Roberson... I mean do they even move the needle at all? I guess it's worth kicking the tires on these guys before making a big move, and it makes sense to keep auditioning guys if we're waiting for buyouts to happen.

Good practice player who won't see no light. Din's wife is his sister right? Family thing I guess.
This just tells me Nic coming around soon. Seen somewhere on twitter he's participating with stay ready group.

If any team in history can play Roberson and Brown together it's these Nets. Scary hours got enough offense to carry Nash and D'Antoni as 4/5 to a decent NBA offense. OK maybe Vaughn instead of D'Antoni
Vonleh and Pelle are nothing signings but if Roberson is somewhat back to his pre-injury self then that's a valuable player. Guy can guard any wing in the league, just pure hustle, defensive instincts and good size he would be a terror with the big 3.

I think hes washed up. Don't think he can play high level defense anymore.
Marks is clearly just saving these roster spots for buyouts by signing temporary players.

Re: Shams: Nets sign Andre Roberson
The only player available that I am OK with not getting Rondae back, Andre could be a great pickup. Similar to Batum, the risk is whether he's fully healed. If so, with his nascient perimeter shot, he could be better than ever. From his extremely limited sample size in the Bubble, he's shown more ability to your 3's than RHJ, which was probably the deciding factor.
Also, I think that this officially ends any possibility of trading Spencer, which is a good sign. From my armchair trade explorations, we were not likely to receive anyone who could offer 25% of the impact on winning that a healthy Dinwiddie does. At that point, we're better off rolling the dice with our guy, who knows that system and could be a ridiculous luxury in June.
Welcome Andre! Go Brooklyn!

Re: Shams: Nets sign Andre Roberson
Hoping this is the low risk, high reward wing defender on the cheap that we need. Honestly all I want to see from him is good defense. If he can get back to where he was prior to his injury, great. We don't really need much from him offensively, even if he's playing with the bench group.

Re: Shams: Nets sign Andre Roberson
Looks like this well be a 1 week trial to see where his conditioning/skill level is at. If he looks good, he might get a longer non-guaranteed contract for the rest of the season.
Not sure he'll actually play, so he may have to shine in practice.

you can 100% play brown and roberson next to the big3. everyone talks about "spacing" but its not like this is the bucks with giannis being 1 diemssional single star who needs lanes or embiid who works mroe inside.
We have the 3 best offensive players in the league, all 3 are elite jump shooters, all 3 can score at all 3 levels. also, few teams 4 elite floor spaces on the floor at once. we sitll have 3 elite floor spacers with just the big 3.
brown/roberson plus the big three is still likely a top 3 if not #1 scoring team in the league.
how much space do you really need for durant to cross someone up and hit an 18 foot jumper? how much space do you need for kyrie to cross someone into oblivion and hit a midrange shot? how much space do you need for harden to hit a steo back three?
space is important when you have guys who need to get to the rim to be effective. we dont need that

Roberson pre injury was an ELITE defender. Modern day Tony Allen.
I think he could really be a sneaky addition that lasts for the whole year.
