So, Team Durant is:



KD made sure to pick both KyriEEEEEEEEEEE and Harden and also showed love to the Knicks tonight by picking Julius Randle (who is a well deserved all star selection) ahead of a few players. I'm glad to see that despite everything Durant showed NY love first.

I happen to be a huge draftnik so I watched this on TNT and enjoyed it.

That said, IMO Durant out-witted LeBron and built the better overall team.

Other than taking Kyrie first (I would have taken Embiid), Durant kept making every pick I would have made when he went on the clock, and he didn't lose Embiid anyway because he was still on the board when LeBron passed on him with his second pick. So I'm actually glad he took Kyrie first and every proceeding pick, literally every proceeding pick Durant made was the exact same pick I would have made if I was on the clock. That was NOT the case with Team LeBron. I thought he passed on better players a few times, starting with Embiid. In fact it's extremely rare, as a draftnik, that a GM will take every player I would have taken, pick after pick after pick.

Oh wait, he did make one pick I wouldn't have made ... Randle ... the Knick.

So in closing I believe Team Durant is the better team, even with Durant down and not playing, and if I still gambled (I don't anymore) I would definitely bet on Team Durant in the All-Star Game.

BTW Just curious, but which team was installed as the favorite? Thanks in advance.

If this was a real game, I think KD's team would be the big favorite. In a no defense exhibition that makes bigs useless, I'd day it favors the team with the best 3 point shooting.

With Embiid being forced to sit out the ASG for Covid protocol, Team LeBron should bury Team Durant.

Right now Kyrie looks like the only one that came to play on Team Durant.

Any opportunity Irving gets to go against Lebron he bringing his overall hustle game out.

The all-star game is just unwatchable.

I get defense was never really a thing in the all-star game, but i mean, guys at least tried on some level to not let the other team score. every possesion is just an unctonsted three or 5 defenders wathcing someone dunk.

Basically it's just a case of the best offensive players in the league showcasing their ridiculous athleticism and talent, but nobody wants to get hurt because these are mostly the best players on contending teams. I mean think about it, Pro, can you imagine how furious you would be tonight if Kyrie or Harden got hurt due to anything even approaching a hard foul?

Like I said, the ASG is just an exhibition to showcase these incredible athletes and their skills.

Back in the day the Rucker tournament was a lot like the ASG too, that's why some GREAT NBA players were given the green light by their team management to play in it. Dr. J, Kareem, Wilt, Hawkins, Tiny etc. Of course any hardcore fan, especially from NYC, knows that some of the greatest "talents" whoever lived, guys who played with and against these all-time NBA greats and held their own or out-played them, never made it to the NBA due to drugs, flunking out of school and all the trapping of poverty and growing up in the hood. I myself saw MANY players who could have been GREAT NBA Players, but they went in the wrong direction. Sadly that was the norm in the hood. The guys who made it out were the exceptions.

but no one is showcasing skill. and no one is asking to even play hard. but at least try and get in someones way. why even enter the defensive side of the floor? its not even pretend D. its literally standing and wathcing. its a shoot around, not an exhibition.

and id be much more pissed if kyrie or harden got hurt for this junk then a real exhibition

If there was a year and a perfect excuse to not have an All Star game it was this one. The players hearts did not seem to be in it.

I know it's a big deal for kids who are just learning and becoming NBA fans. So I get why the league went through with it. But if I'm Silver I would have taken a pass on this years game.
