Looks like this game is being moved to tomorrow night since both teams have an off day.

Going to be real unfortunate timing because of the big showdown at PHI Wed night which would now be the second half of a b2b.

People are saying on twitter that both Kyrie and KAT were missing this to "personal reasons" because of the shooting. The NBA/MLB cancelling the games and KAT also sitting our 'personal reasons' for this one kind of makes it silly to beat on kyrie for it

The police chief is calling it an "Accidental discharge" and that the cop thought they were pulling a taser.

WTF is this nonsense. if you are a cop how can you not know if you where your gun is and where your tazer is. also, once you draw it, how do you not know the difference?

Also.

traffic stop. 3 cops. why is a weapon of any kind being drawn here? why is the car even on here? How come we can bring white terrorist mass school shooters in without a scratch but cant issue a traffic violation ticket without killing a 20 year old black father?

Minnesota needs to fire the entire force and have the feds police the state until new chiefs and officers can be vetted and staffed.

NBA would've cancelled games if they could. They HAVE to hit 72 or the networks can renegotiate their contract, NBA could lose a ton of money.

It seems to me that the postponement is more for the players than anything else, which is totally fine with me. These shootings are traumatic, a day of time to sit with it can make a difference.

Edit: Seems like there is a Minneapolis curfew at 7pm. Postponement was the only option. ?s=20

First time I am seeing this. How do you not know the difference between a taser and a handgun?

I'm not going to speculate but this seems like utter incompetence and that officer who discharged her weapon should be fired.

That's cap. Kyrie called out since yesterday because he simply "just felt like not playing" like always. And KAT is doing a memorial for his mom.

It is sad what happened to Mr Wright. and that cop should be held responsible. But why would u run in that situation? I know some of you guys are going to have your panties in a bunch for this but why give them any reason to use a weapon on u or any type of force? just comply, you're already with your hands on your back and 2 cops behind u.

A black man complying with officers in America doesn't automatically mean the black man will come away unscathed. Sad to say, but every black person has more than a right to be afraid in that situation.

Police need to be held more accountable and to a much higher standard. A suspect not in compliance should not mean execution. Officers should be able to tell the difference between a taser and a loaded firearm, no matter the situation.

that is understandable and I get it. But dude was already checkmated . He had his hands behind his back with 2-3 officers behind him, how far does he think he was going to get? Why put them and yourself in that type of situation ? why give them a more of a reason? Need to be 2 times smarter and careful dealing with police in America.

Why are you ok for the penalty for resisting arrest being death?

Yes he should not have been resisting arrest.

That doesn't mean they should kill him. You're blaming the victim here for something that should have never happened.

idk, cuz **** is scary? people do weird/irrational **** when they're scared. It doesn't have to be a rational response for it to be a normal way to react given the circumstances. It's the cops job to stay calm in an interaction, esp when there's no imminent threat to others. Being afraid of looking like a dumbass or scared you'll screw up and let someone get away is not a reason to shoot someone. It's not even a reason to tase someone most of the time imo, tasers kill people all the time and u have no idea if someone has a heart condition or something.

Besides, complying never guarantees your safety, and we all know how the courts can ruin your life over some bs if you get the wrong judge or can't afford a good lawyer. I can't blame anyone for panicking in the moment.
