The Raptors are going to trap kyrie hard on every pick and roll and sometimes even in isolation. We saw this last game vs. toronto and also saw it from other opponents. Nurse is an excellent coach, he is going to be ready to trap kyrie and make someone else beat them.

We need to adjust. Last game Kyrie did ok passing out of the double team, but as a coaching staff, we didnt make 1 very important adjustment:

If a team is going to trap Kyrie on the pick and roll, we need to set that pick and roll much higher. right now its sets at the standard spot, top of the key just above the 3 point line. The problem is when they double there the pass goes to the FT line, where defenders are close and can rotate and recover

if we set that pick and roll way out higher near half court, the pass goes to the top of the key where blake has a ton more space to attack or kick to the corner. defenders wont be as close to recover and help on blake.

Here is an example on how GS designed screens super high with steph curry to combat teams trapping every pick and roll. it got Draymond the ball at the top of the key for a virtual 4 on 3.

They can use this same concept with joe harris setting the super high pick and roll and then slipping for an open 3. again warriors did this with steph/klay

Blake doesn't play 2nd of b2bs so expect him to be out too.

Raptors are openly tanking but half our team is missing.

If this has to be a loss then so be it. Kyrie can't score 40 every game.

Blake told Grady he would be ready to go tonight even with the back to back.

Raptors were fined for resting healthy players. all their starters/regulars will play tonight. they have won 3 in a row and 6 of their last 10 despite sitting starters.

Lowry owns us. im sure he will drop 35, take 4 flop charges, and not miss from 100 feet out

Kyrie has to give up the ball quickly in offensive sets and move to get it back while the defense shifts. Can't sit there, dribble into a double team and expect results. Move the ball, hit Shamet and Harris for threes.

Kyrie seemed frustrated yesterday but I thought he did a really good job with the double teams. Didn't force anything. Attacked quickly when he had space. Took advantage in transition when they couldn't double him. We get into trouble when Green or Bruce Brown start making bad decisions on the short roll. Or Kyrie gets lazy passing out.

Not expecting much tonight. Toronto is full of guys that just kill us. I don't even want to know what kind of stat line the Boucher / Birch combo is gonna hit us with. I expect a light 40 and 20.

I'll be at the Knick game tonight. If you never see me post again, you know who to blame.

Thjat helps but will just be the same result as miami... they will easily rotate to the ball cause everything is so compressed. We need to set those screens higher so once the pass is made the D is forced to scramble.

I'd also play shamet at PG and Kyrie off ball alot

I cannot stand that little fat rat Lowry and his disgusting flops. I hope we spank them but this is going to be another tough game. Raps always plays us hard and they have a top notch coach. Siakam, FVV, Lowry are all legit players and I'm surprised they are this bad. Their new acquisition is playing lights out, I think it's Gary trent? who they got from the Blazers. We need this win though

This. It's too easy to trap Kyrie when he is bringing the ball up. Let Kyrie catch the ball inside the mid range and go to work.

I'm proud of us digging deep last night. Without a rest day, with half the roster injured, I'd be happy with a solid effort win or loss. Irving wants to be at his best against Boston on Friday, let's come away healthy and hold our head high. Go Nets!

What is the latest on James Harden, will he be back in regular season? The playoffs or at all?

Tonights going to be an uphill climb. If we can get another strong performance out of Shamet and Joe. And if TLC has a good night our chances are good.

All in......Lets go !

I think this is a good test to see how far Nash has come as a coach this season.

Shamet has to have a big game and I agree he needs to primarily bring down the ball to help get KI an ideal matchup. Screen sets from Harris. Run Shamet around like warriors use Curry. Have Blake anchor the point and look for cutters or an open shooter. Unfortunately this is tough matchup on a BTB.
