Thank you, MDB.
I understand folks saying that our offense looked stagnant, and that can lead to role players shooting poorly. We need our studs to stay aggressive and attack mismatches, that's the winning formula for the playoffs. HOWEVER, we still need to swing the ball to multiple sides of the court and get into our sets. That way, we force the defense to tip their hand and reveal their strategy, whether be zone, man or a mixture. Blind ISO-mania is easier to combat than it should be, we're making things unnecessarily hard on ourselves by not studying our opponent.
I'm glad we won on Saturday. Now it's about us sharpening our habits for the present and the future. Let's go Brooklyn!!!

This is right here. More ball movement will be key cause trust, they will adjust to ISO ball. Catch them off guard and feed Harris more looks

Not worried about the iso ball. I think the team was a little too hyped for the opener with all the fans. We iso'd a lot but we also forced passes that weren't there and missed a lot of good looks.
This is a high BBIQ team and we'll figure it out. Absolute worst case scenario - we'll get ball movement going just because Boston will be forced to double our stars.
I so badly want a game like Milwaukee had yesterday. Role players going off from 3. Crowd going crazy. This is a big game. I want our offense to cruise to 125 - 130.

Reading the boston game 3 thread was very surprising for me.... 2 things stand out:
1) They focus a ton on Robert Williams and his ability to play (he has turf toe). I know he had 9 or 10 blocks but honestly he is kind of a non factor. I mean dont get me wrong, he is a much better option then Tristan Thompson but the Nets are giving Boston a gift by playing Blake/Green a ton at center... They should just go small. it would give them more floor spacing, better switching on our stars, and put more pressure on us defensively. Rim protectors dont have much value against us, since we do some much damage mid range and go with 5 shooters to pull the rim protector out.
There were about 20 times we hunted switches and had their big 25 feet from the hoop either on hard or switched on to harris/a shooter where they couldnt leave them to help at the rim. Most of williams blocks were on nets second chance/putback opportunites or second action drives.
2) They keep talking about this sellout game 4. and how "big" it would be to be 2-1 then and how their crowd is going to somehow turn Kyrie irving into a scrub or something. I cant believe that like its 2 or 3 years later and they still cant get over the Kyrie stuff. Their own media (Felger and Mazz; Zolak and hardy) are calling them dumb crybabies for boo'ing if they choose to boo kyrie. It just sad that is their focus... especially after last season when Smart came out and said focus on us not guys not here, And its kind of delusional to think Kyrie cares about that. Celtics players love him and he has played vs huge oppopsing crowds before and dominated (Game 7 of the NBA finals in GS comes to mind)
They do seem realistic about losing in 4-5 games. But overall, for a team that hates the Nets they seem to know so little about this team... like the RW thing, our rotation, how we play, our weaknesses, etc..
At least that weak narrative we cant defend isnt being parroted as much.

We should Iso every time down the floor.
Every.Single.Possesion.
The only exception would be Harden/Claxton pick and rolls when its just harden with KD/Irving on the bench. Otherwise, ISO for our stars hunting after a switch is 100% far and away the best offense in the league. When you can shoot horribly, turn it over a ton, suck from three and still score 82 points on 56 shots you know you are doing something right. Second half we were just "ok" and we scored 57 points on 24 shots. Thats basically peak MJ/Moses/Kareem/Lebron level efficiency in the finals.
When the double teams come, we can worry about role guys shooting. otherwise Let lebron continue to dominate kemba in the post on a switch or Let Kyrie break whatever is remaining of fourniers ankles or let Harden put And-1 mixtape moves on thompson.
If we play the way we did in game 1 tonight, odds are we drop 130+
The other thing about half court Iso... its much less turnover prone and thats one of our bigger regular season issues. Hunt the mismatch, look to score.

The bold is 100% accurate.
If they went to let fournier/kemba/thompson guard Kyrie/KD/Harden with no double/help we should not be looking to "move the ball" we should be looking to evicerate

Lol if we screen and force Kemba on to KD in iso and no help comes, what should KD do?
1) look to pass to a teammate?
2) Score easily on a high % mid range shot?
Why are we even debating this? 2nd half we beat them like thieves who got caught stealing in the Favela. If we keep up the defensive intensity, there isn't much Boston can do.

Hoping we start the game well. It's been a recurring theme throughout the season, so it'd be nice to get rid of that habit in the playoffs.
Expecting a much better offensive output but with the sustained defensive performance(especially from the 2nd half). Role players also need to step up and build confidence. A bit more ball movement would be nice if possible.
Also hoping we get another great crowd with tons of energy. I'm sure that will happen.

Agree with this, I think iso with the big 3 is the way to go with them on the court, it also throws them out of getting into any sort of rhythm. When Harden takes the second unit I would like him to get more aggressive to opens things up. Unleash him.

Nets stars need to do a better job than last game of getting the supporting cast involved. The early iso offense is fine if shots go in and Boston are forced to send more help, opening up shots for others. But I'd still like to see ball movement early on and then iso based offense in 2nd half.

I would rather see Bruce Brown or Uncle Jeff with the starting unit and Joe Harris coming off the bench.
Reason being, I think Joe has a better chance to get more shots (3's) with the second unit, without feeling like he needs to acquiesce to the BIG 3. That also gives him a better chance to get in a groove from 3.

BTW I hope the Nets players, all of them, received the memo.
What memo?
The one that says it's not against the law to start fast and step on the oppositions throats early.
... like, from the opening tip-off, which I know is a radical concept for this Nets team, thus the memo.

Looks like the crowd is very late unfortunately. Apparently George Floyd protest has held up some of the traffic.
