3rd team All-NBA selection for Kyrie this year.

Harden was close, but ultimately Harden and KD missed out due to a lack of games played. Kyrie himself was probably closer to 1st/2nd team but was docked for missed games.

50/50/90 on 25+ ppg. elite all-time season. only KD, Bird, and Curry have done that

I'm very happy he got this and the 50/40/90 club on 27/5/6 and 61 TS%. As you say, he was closer to 2nd team in merit, but I understand the case for CP3 because he played more games (Kyrie beat him in most box stats and advanced stats though and is a better player than every CP3 after 2018).

The media has a very clear anti-Kyrie bias, but these accomplishments can't be overlooked or taken away from. I hope his ankle sprain is only Grade 1, because I think the Nets will beat the Bucks, and then he could possibly sit out until the middle or toward the end of the next round and get close to 100% and play in the finals.

Kyrie is a very under appreciated player because his style looks flashy and he puts his foot in his mouth, but his career accomplishments are very impressive:

NBA champion (2016)
7× NBA All-Star (2013–2015, 2017–2019, 2021)
NBA All-Star Game MVP (2014)
All-NBA Second Team (2019)
2× All-NBA Third Team (2015, 2021)
50–40–90 club (2021)
NBA Rookie of the Year (2012)
NBA All-Rookie First Team (2012)
NBA Three-Point Contest champion (2013)
USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year (2014)
FIBA World Cup MVP (2014)
First-team Parade All-American (2010)

7-time all-star with at least two left on the table because of injuries (2016 and 2020) and three All-NBA selections with as many as three left on the table (2016, 2018 and 2020). Him having these accomplishments is crazy because he's still only 29. He's bigger than CP3, so if he's interested, I could see him keeping up around his current level of play or even improving a bit for another 3-5 years. But right now, he has as many All-NBA team selections as Ray Allen in the most competitive era for guards (w. these rules) and only one less All-NBA team than Paul Pierce. Was a huge part of a championship run and could be this year too if everything holds up and they can get healthy. Could be a 12-time all-star, 5-7 time all-nba and be a 20,000 point scorer when it's all said and done, but even with what he's done so far, he's a 1st ballot hall of famer.

Another well deserved accolade for Kyrie. I believe this award also triggers some clauses in his contract that earns him some more cash too if i'm not mistaken.
