I completely understand waiving Johnson's non-guaranteed contract. But man that one stings, he seemed like such a good guy and an extremely hard worker. I think he could be a rotation player in the NBA if he finds the right situation, hopefully he catches on with another team that will give him consistent minutes and find a role for him to play to his strengths (i.e. rebounding, running the floor/pushing the tempo, hustling/bring energy). Good luck Mr. Johnson!

I hope Alize can land another job. This is the decision I wasn't looking forward to because the guy seemed like a good kid and played hard.
No hard feelings I hope for DJ. He was a good sport last season but the guy is washed up.
I'm sure we are probably going to waive Ja and Sekou. Sekou's numbers are really terrible.

Great trade for Brooklyn!
A ton of people said we would need multiple 1sts in order to offload DJ for anyone useful. Well, Sekou might be a project, but at least it didn't cost us two 1sts. I don't know if he'll stay, but he has some value.
I wish DJ well. Go Nets!

4 second rounders sounds like a lot but it is a necessary haul to pay for the reportedly 47m of savings and a roster spot.
Okafor definitely will be waived but I wonder if they plan on keeping Sekou for another look since he is so young. I think we are out of roster spots so if Sekou stays someone else has to go - likely Bembry?
Not sure how I feel about it. Bembry is a known quantity and a solid 3rd string backup, Sekous stats are horrid and I wasn't impressed with his highlight reels on YouTube but he does give legit big wing size and offers some potential.

And I'm happy DJ is finally gone since we won't have the same neverending should DJ play or not discussions this season.
He was a good sport after getting buried to the bench last season. Thanks for the dunks DJ

Ok who gets waived. Okafor most likely. Idk about the other guy. The nets have too many players. So that should be interesting

All due respect to Jordan, this is a side benefit for Brooklyn. Our biggest title rival out West took up a roster spot with him, as opposed to an actual difference maker like Hartlestein.

Bruce Brown, Blake Griffin, and a bag of $47m. You guys need anything else?

You know you are stacked when you are waiving a player like Alize. Sekou was a first rounder 15th pick 2 years ago Good grief. A++ for Marks.

Welp there's that. Finally get rid of DJ so we can stop hearing his name around here. Nothing against him, I wish him the best and I appreciate what he brought here, but it was getting annoying seeing his name everyday just saying. And clearing 47M is alot, didn't know it would be that much by just getting rid of DJ. Wonder what Sekou brings, never seen him play.

Very solid deal to get rid of DJ. Can't believe the Lakers signed him
I expect both Oak and Sekou get waived.
The move was all about dumping DJ and making extra room for Milsap/LMA/+ whoever we sign next.
Similar to RHJ, I like Alize a lot but unless he can shoot the 3 at least at a least average clip, he won't stick in the league.

Really good trade for us. If we could somehow develop Sekou into a NBA player, that would make this amazing.

-Alize waived already
-okafor a lock to be waved.
I think its a trade for a pick from there. ideally Sharpe. Dembouya has potential and a more important spot. this is a 20 year old guy who came over from france. he hasnt shot well, but awesome length/athleticism and shot well overseason. his ceiling is higher then thomas or sharpe. I loved dude and wanted us to move up ot get him 2 years ago. he has the tools to be a covington like 3 & D guy. 7 foot wingspan and sick hops. loves physical contact. he was one of those "2 years away from being 2 years away" guys. now he is just 2 years away.
Id try and deal sharpe for a future pick, but most likely they waive bembry who is partially guaranteed (and i would hate that move)
i think another trade is coming. ot many valuable guys to just cut someone.
This team is too good to have a coach as bad as nash. we need to resolve that by the ASB.
