I think it was a mistake for Nash to completely bench Griffin. He brings hustle rebounding and other things and should play with the reserves.

I agree. I think we might see Sharpe get some playing time with Harden today. I feel bad though that Griffin is not getting any minutes even off the bench. Seems drastic but I hope it’s just Nash wanting to get a good look at our depth pieces early in the season.

Really feel bad that I'm not at this one to represent. While I don't agree with benching blake, these decisions are not easy to make. Also hope Harden has a bounce back game tonight.

Blake was a glue guy and maybe our best rim protector (although in a different way with charges vs blocks). He wasnt bad enough to be DNP'd. starting LMA made sense, benching blake, especially to just go small and not for claxton i think was wrong but maybe its temporary.

As far as the game mitchell robinson playing vs. not playing is enormous. without him we win by a billion. with him it goes down to the wire.
I also hate that Thibs figured out 1 game before us that they are a worse team trying to balance offense and defense and playing kemba makes them suck defensively. they will likely go back to being the tough team they were last year.
i hate the knicks. this would be a great game for harden to show out

this quote is pathetic
just shows that nashs only strategy is to roll out superstars and hope for the best.
i know we are missing a few guys, but this isnt some tanking lottery team filled with G-leaguers. I mean it took multiple injuries to get Cam in the rotation. If you cant find a way to win with KD "only" playing 34-36 minutes you arent cut out for coaching

Yeah, this is gonna be a tough one. I think Blake is getting a rest, not a demotion. He was logging hard, heavy minutes for awhile.
Our stars will see a tough, determined, disciplined defense against them tonight. Time to rise and grind out the W. Go Brooklyn!

Nash said today it was a demotion when he spoke during his pre game presser. and he basically says blake will be ready "if" (not when?!) he gets a chance again
"Well, I feel for him," Nash said. "That's not easy. You know it's tough when you go through a rough stretch of play and the world kind of caves in on you a little bit. I've been there and understand it. We have to give other guys an opportunity at this point, but Blake's had a great attitude. I really admire him for being positive through this and keeping himself ready so if his opportunity comes back, he can have an impact."

I must have been watching different games this season because although Blake's level dropped, it didn't drop to DJ's level last season and it took Nash 98% of the season to get him out of the rotation.
Blake's attacking output has been poor this season but defensively, I honestly think he's been our best C. Certainly beats playing Millsap there who's playing like he's 47 years old.

I agree with every word. Give any half-decent coach this squad, and I can safely say that they won't be churning out quotes like these at the presser.
I feel like Nash stumbled his way into this job and thought that the squad had too much talent to fail. Especially once we made the move for Harden. Now that he's having to do some actual coaching with Kyrie gone and an out of form Harden, he consistently shows how much he's out of his depth.

Blake also sees it as a demotion with the comments he’s made about it.
