The Iceman Cometh.

Former Net All-Star D'Angelo Russell returns to Brooklyn with Minnesota, who feature star bigman / Nets marauder Karl-Anthony Towns. He took a tough fall in their Wednesday game, but early indications are that he'll be a full participant tonight. They also have a rising sophomore in Anthony Edwards. His mix of deep 3pt range and elite athleticism are a powerful combo. It'll be interesting to see how we scheme for them, on both ends.

The Wolves are missing their other 2nd-year sensation, defensive dynamo Jaden McDaniels. Expect another former Net, Taurean Prince, to get the spot start. We know that he's an excellent 1v1 man defender, and equally horrible in team concepts. We should exploit this weakness with ball movement and back door action.

As for us, Nash will roll out the ball with a decided advantage over Finch in personnel. Reigning Eastern Conference MVP for OCT/NOV Durant should feast on this matchup, even though Vanderbilt is no slouch. Harden may have his hands full, with pesky pressure from one-time Rocket teammate Beverly. Mills could be the swing vote, to push this from a grind-out W to a stress-free victory. In addition to his BCB hardhat and boots, let's hope he brings his elite shooting form. Minnesota will give up the kinds of open looks from 3 when he relocates off of Harden and Durant drives. Let it fly, Bala.
