Since my last game thread yielded a victory for our team, I will do another one
The Smoothie King had an excellent game last night, lets hope he follows up with another one today
KD needs to start passing out of double teams a lot better. Hopefully we can cut his minutes tonight, but I expect a challenge as the Rockets are a lot better than their record indicates.

Hopefully we ride the momentum and win the Texas double 2-0 before going to Atlanta. Can we at least get to twenty wins before our 8th loss? Please. They need to play like they have in the fourth quarter and Nash is doing a good job at finally realizing when to play Clax vs LMA based on matchups. We can win this game but we cannot do what we did last night and try and claw back; they have to run and gun (push the ball) all night and play solid D.

I'm pleased with last night's victory. We can't win em all, and they can't all be pretty. Given the choice, I'll take an ugly W over a fun L every day.
Tonight will be a test of will, and of attrition. Houston is hot, and they have 2 days of rest versus our 0 days. We'll have to dig deep, I'll do my best not to get too down if we do fall. Still, I'm a greedy lil fan, I want this one! Harden's homecoming will be a reminder that he's a superstar. Go Nets!

Defense is the key to winning this game. Despite their two young guards out they have penetrators playing at a high level lately. Eric Gordon and Tate are ones to watch and we might want to really evaluate Gordon this game. He is playing well handling the ball and creating havoc with his drives and solid defense. He has always been a good 3 point shooter but slumped the last couple years and took an extended rest period, he looks healthy now. We can't let Wood score easily in the paint, Claxton should be on this guy all game. Shut him down and we should win. Bembry and Brown need to be stuck on Mathews, dude has been killing teams with his clutch 3 point shooting. Do not leave him open. If we can disrupt those players, the rest of the team can't beat us. They have a good developing center with Sengun, he has really crafty post moves and draws fouls like a magnet so we have to be careful not to get into foul trouble with this guy. Keep the hands up and don't buy his pump fake he is not a good 3 point shooter yet, let him shoot the 3.

This isn't a good team but its a trap game. I hope Harden keep build off his good night.

On nights like this I want our big two sit this one out. Win or lose this game won't mean much in a long run.

Man we know that it's Hardens ex team and they will come to play with purpose. The salt being called trash didn't go anywhere.

No KD, no LMA.
Hopefully we get a lot of Cam, Claxton, and some Duke. This would be a good game to play Blake but when we bench vets, we go all the way.

Resting Durant and Aldridge tonight is a responsible decision. If we are scared that can't get miles off of those two occasionally against losing teams and still put out a winning product, we don't deserve those wins.
Today would make sense to rest James as well, but I know he wants this reunion. I hope our supporting cast comes out with max effort and hits open shots.
Even without their (nominal) starting guards, Houston are dangerous. Perhaps moreso. Our defenders need to turn them over and generate easy transition buckets. Our bigmen need to stay home defensively, a drop scheme that forces Houston to shoot 3's while keeping Wood and Sengun in check makes sense.
There shouldn't be a a heavy lift here in terms of strategy. Put this one away early, get Cam and Day'Ron major minutes late, save the veteran legs and heroics for another day.

Resting KD is smart. restricting minutes is less effective then days off. Lebron has long said this.
The outcome likely wouldnt change with KD. This team has stunk on back to backs. and nash isnt coaching us to a win anytime soon. Either Harden goes off or he doesnt. Rockets are hot, although their last 4 wins are basically against YMCA co-ed over 40 teams. I'm sure playing harden and keeping momentum going will matter to them.
-Blake should play, which is good. he doesnt deserve to be out of the rotation completely.
-need 20 points from Mills and 10+ from brown or thomas
-Harden needs to dominate
I think we keep it within reach but end up losing by 20+

I imagined they would rest KD here. We should still get the win. Harden should be determined to drop 50/15/10 on his old team

Classic Harden ball game with Claxton on a pick and roll, some runs with Brown as well, and an open slasher game with Bembry. Wing shooters of Mills, Bembry, Cam and some Brown. Yes, we are screwed if Harden is off and we have a bad 3 point night. We don't have much of a mid game with LMa and Durant out - other than the occasional Brown floater our only solid midrange player will be Cam. When Harden rests it might get ugly. With that said .... Lets goooooooooooo!!!!!!!! I think Harden will bring us the goods!

This is a good game to rest KD, We still have a punchers chance of getting a win. But we are going to need a big game from the Beard.

How is Blake ever going to get back into the rotation if he can’t even get in a game like this. Fire Nash. I’m sorry but griffin wasn’t playing as bad as this.
