Indeed. I thought about making a game thread this morning, but I knew there would be news of additional cases, and possible cancelations.

Our organization gave every effort to continue fielding a roster, to the possible detriment of our record. I think that that shows character, when other teams clearly did not rush to find replacement 10-day guys. Ultimately, this needed to happen.

This postponement was two games late... But still, thank God that some sense has finally broken out from the league.

It is so moronic what they are doing.... it is a complete facade.

The NBA DOES NOT care about health and safety. if they did rhey would have shut the season down. not this nonsense of like, just keep signing guys off the streets so we can have games and cash checks. Not this nonsense where like 75% of the team has COVID but the other 25% who have been around them all week can still play. even though they probably just tested false negative or something.

The NFL is even worse, they just decided that they wont test players who dont have symptoms. they know there are tons of symptomatic positives, but they dont want to have to quarantine those guys and cancel or move more games, so, they just are going to stop testing.

If its about safety, then shut it down.

if its not about safety then stop pretending it is and let healthy players without symptoms who test positive continue to play. Obvioulsy there isnt a ton of data to go on, but omicron spreads like hot cakes and for the most part is very mild.

My cousin works at MIT. if they test positive for COVID they dont even send them home, just require them to wear a mask. this thing is basically endemic at this point and its super contagious.

crap or get off the pot. this half measures leaves us with an awful product and it does nothing for player healthy and safety

Dead on the money.

It's so pathetic right now that I haven't watched a single game, Nets or anyone else, in well over a week.

When you look at a list of NBA players in the safety & protocols right now, BIG NAMES TOO, it's almost like 90% of the teams have lost their best players (and more), so how can you not just shut the league down?

It has never been about safety in the NBA in my opinion. all just PR to avoid criticism. a complete facade. lets go back to last season before the vaccine was out. (Yes, that's right, we played half of last season with no vaccine). Players had to wear masks when not in the game and they couldnt exchange jerseys after the game... you can breath/cough/sneeze/sweat/spit on a guy for 48 minutes, but not shake his hand and swap jerseys after.

A player who was exposed to someone with COVID had to get pulled from the game that was already underway. the 9 guys he just breathed/sweated/coughed/sneezed/soit on didnt have to quarantine.

Last year 100% of the league was unvaccinated for half the year. no 2% are not vaccinated and thats a huge issue?

its so dumb. at least the NFL owns it... they just come out and say we dont think the risk is low for healthy men 18-45. And they just are stopping testing players without symptoms knowing man will test positive. because the risk is so low.

I think the league decided to let the virus run its course through their players hoping that by the time it's done they won't have to postpone the season.

That's all well and good until it possibly mutates into a form that isn't so mild like the current variant appears to be.

Unfortunately this past weekend I lost a friend/ex coworker to Covid. He had health issues but Covid compounded the matter. I pray to God and wish everyone here and everywhere well. It has been a weird weekend to say the least with his loss. He was such a nice soul and heart that went out of his way to help anyone. I miss him.

There was another tweet that stated that COVID replacement players will not count against the total team salary. Basically, Tsai probably said I'm done paying $500k per 10-day contract just to field a team and accumulate financial & game losses. The NBA basically said take some more Ls, but we won't tax you for it.
