GT: Nets @ Cav's - 3:00 PM 1/17/22

The last 10 games played have the Nets at 4-6 and the Cav's riding a 4 game win streak winning 6 of their last 10 games. With Cleveland being one of the younger teams in the NBA and at home, we can expect a high engery output from them. We can expect our Fab 4 rookies to match their intensity.
We are going to be without KD, Nic, LMA, and of corse Joe.
The good news is that we are going to have Kyrie, that should help take some of the burden off the Beard, being that we have 9 of our next 11 games on the road.
I read that Cleveland is interested in trading for Joe.....not sure what they would offer, don't see anything appealing there.
The should be a great game and a chance to see Big Jay in his all star campaign season.

We need to run the Houston offense and Harden needs to take control. Houston Harden incoming. Edwards, Irving, Mills have to be prepared to catch and shoot. I feel Harden plays better without Durant. Harden with shooters is deadly.

Start: Harden/Kyrie/Edwards/Blake/Sharpe
Gonna be a tough test for Sharpe.

We can still win this game. Kyrie will get over 20 as will Harden. I wonder if LMA will be back.

I edited my post. Cleveland is pretty big up front so we will need to start Blake.

Windrem just brought up a good point, someone is going to have to get cut if we hope to have Edwards on the playoff roster.

Probably a buy out for Millsap.

Not sure I like that but he's the odd man out right now.

With Both and LMA and Nic not available we are going to need Millsap. He definitely had some good games last season in Denver. But I don't see us offloading Edwards to hold on to a soon to be 37 year old Millsap.

First choice is to find a way to dump Carter. Second choice would be getting Millsap or Brown somewhere they can get consistent minutes.

Brown can veto any trade simply because he loses his bird rights. I don't see him leaving BK. Carter should've been gone yesterday. Sapp will definitely going to be released since he's a vet.
It'll be very interesting to see what type of contracts Kess and DDJ will get. Both showed that they can be good rotation guys.

Brown knows that the Nets are not going to resign him using bird rights. The best thing for him is if the Nets move him somewhere that's willing to pay him, much like the Allen and Shamet deals played out.

Yeah no way i go big, i know they have size be we have been unanimously AWFUL going big.
Harden | Kyrie | Mills | Edwards | Sharpe.
Last year we had like an 18-2 stretch with KD out. Harden/Kyrie had great chemistry and while KD > Kyrie the one thing with having Kyrie instead of KD is that you have a ball handling creator no matter which star sits.
This team has no excuses not to absolutely SHREAD this road trip to the tune of 4-1 or 5-0.

Sad thing is that both Shamet and Allen boosted their value season prior trade. It's not the case for Brown unfortunately, we have journeymen and rookies eating his min simply because he don't have respectable jumper. I think he'll stay and roll dice here, it can't get any worse than it is. Next off-season Marks can help out imo, I think that was the deal after his poor FA. Knowing Marks believe in continuity, development and reluctance to make move during season, yeah its pretty easy to bank on.

Brown is most likely a goner after the season as is Bembry. I am pretty sure Nets will look to fill the roster out with 3 and D type players and help build the rookies more, and rightfully so. I am high on the rookies and feel they might be able to add a lot of scoring next season if the three are back.

Probably so. My biggest worry is Patty and PG spot. With flat earth still being part time player ( NY not changing Covid rules, Woj speculation has no legs apparently ) it's glaring problem. Even if NY will change it's mandates, how much trust you have in flat earth creature to be available?

I doubt they ditch bembry. he is minimum level money, a NJ native, super close with Kyrie, and a glue guy. he is also shooting 40% from three

We might have issues defensively going that small versus Cleveland though, their front line is basically three seven footers. I'd rather Blake match up against Mobley to at least play physical with him. However, Harden + Sharpe + 3 shooters should be potent offensively
