If we lose DDJ because of Sapp or Carter I'll be pissed.

I think people are moving off of clax too soon. Day definitely does things better, rebounding, rolling, screening, defending big 5's... but. No single Net covers up for more defensive sins than clax. I think he's ready for deep playoff starting minutes. Don't get me wrong. It's amazing that Sharpe gives us so much so soon and that's nothing but an absolute win especially with Clax becoming an RFA.

The main knock on Clax is availiblity, but unless we're able to get a serious upgrade in a need role (floor spacing/playmaking - for when Kai sits), I think he's a key all in piece in contending this year.

Kess has been great. Big fan.

The other knock on Clax is his cost as a pending FA.

Agreed.

Clax is our best defender. We need him in a playoff series.

I think its too much for Sharpe to do this early on.

We can take care of that in the offseason. My point is that if he's moved it should be because it makes us better right now, not because we think Sharpe makes him expendable. If the last few years has taught us anything it's that each year is in a contention window is precious.

I don't understand what exactly we can get back for him other than a first round pick.

Claxton is needed to win the title this year. I'll take that even if its just for one year.
