Hopefully we stick with Claxton starting and give blake big minutes. We need to be switchable vs these teams out west. CP3 is the best with pick and roll lobs, switching on him is vital. Dont let biyombo get easy ones. Live with Nic/Blae on CP3/booker and dare them to Bostom Biyombo on Kyrie or Patty.
Give me 25 minutes of Bembry.
This is a winnable game. Kyrie is close to midseason form and him and harden click on the floor. If James can go i like our chances to compete. Despite the results, the team has been playing well the last few.

The lineup you posted against the Suns will give them fits. Edwards and Claxton can both guard the switch and there are four floor spacers. With a fresh Harden and Kyrie, we should blitz them but you never know how it ends. I think Nets find a way to finally win a game and regain big confidence back. Suns struggled against the Spurs last night so no reason we cannot beat them. Edwards will make life hell for Paul/Booker. It feels good watching these guards struggle against our young long defenders.
Nets 125 Suns 115.

I don't really see any evidence we can beat good focused teams unless we're 100% healthy.
The coaching staff doesn't place any importance on spacing. Good coaches take advantage of that. We consistently throw in lineups for 10-15 minutes a game that have no chance of scoring. It hurts us on both ends. You can't overcome that against smart teams.
Time and time again, we've seen the coaching staff buckle under the pressure of close games. Everyone was talking about the challenge but the Klay 3 with 12 seconds was a bigger blunder in my eyes. Coming off FTs EVERYONE should be ready to switch everything - especially a Klay + Curry screen. Everyone needs to be on the same page. Edwards thought he was supposed to fight over the screen - Patty thought they were switching. Kyrie thought they were switching. Gave up a wide open 3 to Klay in a situation where you CANT give up a 3. That stuff is just inexcusable.
I expect a double digit loss with more of the same. Trade deadline is in 10 days. I'm hoping Marks is extra aggressive but I have the feeling he's planning on waiting for the buyout market so we can sign another old guy.

My thoughts exactly. I have seen absolutely nothing that says we'll be beating Phoenix or any other team over .500 unless we are at 100% to offset Nash's incompetence.
Also, not to give Nash a pass, but this roster is so screwed up right now that he has no choice but to play units that provide much of anything offensively unless we plan on playing Kyrie, Mills, and Harden 48 mins.
We literally have no one that can shoot outside of Kyrie, Patty, Harden and Edwards. Thats really bad.
Having to rely on rookies is really bad. Edwards has been a god send but we are asking a lot from him right now.

Coaching is always going to be a crutch for us. but despite all the noise, our players have been playing solid basketball. LMA going down may low-key help us. force nash to play Blake and not throw away possesion by a mid range being the first option on 10 straight trips.
Suns are coming into this game hobbled too. And they looked lost vs the spurs. Not having Crowder and Ayton makes their defense go from good to real ugly.
Nash is always the x-factor, but i expect us to be in this one too

Bembry can hit open shots and he has all year. He needs to play more. Bruce Brown shouldnt be taking Bembrys minutes.
That said, if Milsap was sent home, and we arent going to play Carter (which is warranted) Then marks need to get someone off the scrap heap. whether its someone like Thomas/Johnson or a trade. just get a body who can shoot so you at least have the option.

100% agree, Brown should not be taking minutes from Bembry. To me Brown should be out of the rotation. He's not helping to space the floor, his role on offense no longer is the same any more as last year when we had actual play calling, and his floor impact is nowhere near Bembry who is a better finisher, athlete, and defender.
I hate to say this but i doubt Bruce will be in the league next season. I hope someone gives him a shot though.

The sample size on Bembry is too small to declare that he can hit shots. However, he isn't a complete liability on offense as he is solid at finishing at the basket and his corner three has been going down at a 57% clip. So he needs to play.

Again, an Edwards/Claxton type giving players like Booker/Paul fits is key. Nets have to win with defense and pushing the ball. Kyrie, Patty, Harden and Edwards are four floor spacers and Kyrie is one of the best to handle the ball. Everyone else just needs to be ready. If you can shut their pick and roll game down , Nets are golden.

Our bad shooters need to shoot open shots too. Like Brown, Johnson, Cam Thomas, Duke Jr. Blake... if you are open take it. if you dont its going to result in a worse, contested shot, late in the clock.
Even 25-30% from three is a better look then a late contested floater in traffic. threes also result in more offensive rebounds with long bounces.

I feel like over the last 10 - we probably have 4 or 5 games max of solid ball. That's including the big 3 spanking the Bulls. With a few atrocious losses mixed in there.
Phoenix is hobbled but they've won 10 in a row. They'll be up for this game.

I feel like we played well 5 of the last 6 games, with the wolves game being the letdown stinker.
im optimistic these next 4 Kyrie/Harden can find a groove. I think a Kessler Edwards coming out game is imminent also

Man it must be nice to have a coach who actually put YEARS in on the bench as an assistant before being given a head coaching job and is humble enough to admit he makes mistakes instead of tossing his team under the bus in public.
Sean Marks has done some great things here, but hiring Steve Nash to a position he was unqualified for has cost us heavily.

Only chance we have of winning is if BOTH Kyrie and Harden go off.
We need a domination game. We have the two best players in this game. Act like it. Dominate them.
Force them to double and get off our role players.
Play smart defense.
I don't have much hope though. This team looks lost right now. **** Nash.

Agree with all but the first sentence. We nearly beat the warriors with only Kyrie (who did go off). I think we need the same solid play from our role guys as we got Saturday, ONE of Kyrie/Harden going off and the other giving us 18-22 points on ok shooting.
I think good play from Blake/Mills/Kessler/Bembry is more important then Harden going off IMO.

I love the overall enthusiasm, everyone. Not all Nets spaces are this optimistic about tomorrow or our future, so it's refreshing to see.
I hope that Harden can go, both fit the immediate impact, and just to know that it isn't a serious injury. I gotta say, I don't love Patty starting next to Kyrie and James. It can work, and we don't have loads of other options. But I feel he's better utilized off the bench, still in a 30min role. Start Bembry.
Let's cheer on our guys, GO NETS!

not many favors tonight. Grizz blowing it in OT vs Philly and Pelicans blowing a big 4th lead vs the Cavs. Miami did lose to Boston which is nice.

Crowder and Shamet officially ruled out now. Add that to Ayton and Payne and Suns are pretty short handed themselves.
