It doesn't even have to be a trade. There are 1000% guys in the G League or the free agent pool that are better fits than James Johnson. One guy isn't going to completely turn us around but just eliminating straight garbage lineups would help A LOT.

It's kind of an underrated part of team building but it was something that Marks was really good at before. It's why we always overachieved. Getting rid of negative players and turning them into neutral / average players is a huge boost. Playing someone like Johnson makes it easier to gameplan for us. Playing him together with Brown and Claxton or Sharpe makes it literally impossible to run offensive sets. If you're not an elite defensive team, you're going to be in big trouble. We've been one of the worst defenses in the league recently.

Those types of moves happen after the trade deadline and buyout season. No need to keep adding to the tax bill for someone you may need to cut in favor of somebody that gets bought out or to accommodate a trade.

there is currently not tax on 1-day deals.

That's not true. There's not tax on guys signed as COVID replacements when teams are granted a hardship exception. We need to cut someone to sign a 10 day.

He really is. Gifted the best Big3 ever through player empowerment and is fumbling.
The 65 win Rockets team the best of MDA career and style we have/had the opportunity to improve on it. Only things missing is the roles of Ariza/Tucker/Luc/Clint. With a Grant/Kuzma trade and the reported buyout of Tristan we would have all the pieces necessary to replicate that and go to scoring in the playoffs.

Harden=Harden
Kyrie=Paul
Durant=Ariza
Grant=Tucker
Thompson=Clint
Patty=Gordon
Kuzma=Luc
LMA=Nene

A playstyle proven to work(it works because it covers all the needs for any team. Spacing, rebounding and length for team defense. Role players who don’t get much ball time spam the most efficient shots, spot up 3’s and layups.)this entire era and currently the best teams(besides the Warriors) emulate. What the 6ers would obviously emulate if we foolishly allow this to go through. We have the pieces to move towards it and be better at it than anyone else.

It’s so f**k’n simple. We have the best 3 ever. It’s so frustrating knowing what that guy did without CP3 most of the season then without Kyrie/Durant for most of his first year and see now not giving him anything resembling a component support unit(I know I know it’s the best in the league but nobody says who they are better than) he gets blame. He’s on par with Durant and Curry(check the stats, check the metrics, check the MVP shares) and here we are. God damn I’m angry. All we ever needed was wings and bigs. All we ever needed.

Bol Bol was just traded WITH CASH to the magic for a top 55 protected/fake 2nd.

So i think we can squash the idea that we couldnt match value for forbes because bol bol is some coveted prospect

Don't be blinded by 39% from 3, everything else he brings to the court is garbage. Look at his Offensive and Defensive Ratings, his Win Shares, or any advanced stat. Forbes is worse than Cam, you seriously covet the players who would not help us one iota.

He provdes spacing, which we need the most.

And i dont care if he sucks at other things, id rather have a guy who shoots 3 and sucks at everything else vs. a guy who doesnt shoot and sucks at everything else.

Like what are we getting from Jevon Carter, Milsap, etc...?
