Nets exploring trades for Joe Harris:
https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/265713/Nets-Explore-Joe-Harris-Trade-OptionsThe Brooklyn Nets have explored trading Joe Harris, who has been out since November with ankle surgery. Harris was supposed to be back in January, but his return does not appear imminent.
In 14 games this season, Harris has averaged 11.3 points on 46.6 percent three-point shooting in 30.2 minutes.
While Harris is an excellent fit with Brooklyn's Big 3, potentially losing him for the playoffs puts the team in a precarious position.
Harris signed a four-year, $72 million deal with the Nets during the 2020 offseason.

If I'm the Nets I give it a go with Harden this season and address it again in the offseason... The nets HAVE leverage. Sixer can create cap but its an uphill road. If you're Brooklyn you play it out and then go at it in the offseason, that deal will still be there... If im the Nets I slow play it and see what happens later.
He talks about just 3-4 teams with cap to help Philly and every team is going to be trying to dump salary on them. Easiest path for Philly is to work with the Nets.

Portland just opened up a ton of cap space. I could definitely see them willing to take on Ben or Tobias in the offseason.

Portland will be 41 million under the cap. So they could fit Tobias. The thing is, you likely give up more to dump Tobias then it would cost to just trade with the Nets. Its 1 more team to potentially help philly, but Portland woudlnt do it for free and i doubt turning mccollum/powell/nance/covington into tobias harris is going to help them keep lillard happy.

Potential Targets we could reasonably get with a package containing some package of Harris + Brown/Milsap/Carter + Cam/Sharpe/Claxton
Mike Conley (2/50)
Tobias Harris (yea, i know - 2/80)
John Wall (yeah, I know)
Julius Randle (i know, 4-120)
Buddy Hield (2/40)
Harrison Barnes
Terry Rozier(3/60M)
Gallinari (2/40M)
Marcus Smart (4/75)
Porzingas (2/70)
Myles Turner (1/18)
Marcus Morris (2/34)
D'Angello Russell (1/32)
Eric Gordon (1/22)
Cheaper options include...
Terrance Ross (1/11.5)
DJ augustin (1/7)
I'd keep an eye on Eric Bledsoe, who Portland is probably motivated to buyout.

This is going to be up to Harden right now, if he says he's out then you have to trade him. Chances are high he will take less money and finagle his contract to stay competitive. He's not about the money anymore. He wants to go to Philly because Embiid wants to win, Kyrie already has his ring. Durant I feel sorry for, he's a special player and doesn't deserve this.

I wouldn't be sad to see Joe go....
We need to bring 3pt shooters... Hield is a good target but realistic idk

Trading Harris is a short sighted move.
Hes one of the best shooters in the NBA. Are we sure he won't be back by the playoffs?
Nets just need to use the TPE to try and give someone salary relief.
If not then rely on the buyout market.

I don't know who Calen Mac is but some retweeted it.
I would think we have to do better than Danny Green

Good lord.. this is nuts. I figure something is up cause Harden is still out and he had all the looks of being finished, when he said we are done talking was a giveaway. If it's true Iam upset cause we never got a chance..

If you guys search Twitter via #nets, you're going to find hordes of tweets from different users saying same type of rumors with similar assets or different ones.
No needle moving yet imo

Agreed to a certain extent.
Joe is the last link to those early Markinson days + I'm a huge Joey Buckets fan so of course I want him to stay.
With that being said, he's close to 30, has a big contract, has been injured(will he get back to same level?) + hasn't proven to be a clutch shooter come big games(playoffs).
Shooting is very important, but there are other cheaper vet options that are more proven in the playoffs.

From Jake Fischer:
League personnel expect Orlando will find a new home for Terrence Ross in a similar deal structure that saw the Magic part with Fournier for two second-round picks last season. Gary Harris has been painted as a potential buyout candidate if he is not moved.
we have a pair of seconds and a TPE that would allow us to absorb Ross. Not sure Tsai/Marks would pay the tax on it or not but he could help and would come cheap

I'm not sure he wont be back by the playoffs and that uncertainty is why I trade him. Hield is 90-100% the shooter Joe is, healthy, and younger. May take a third team but i'd explore that
