Starters:
** Brooklyn **
Goran Dragic
Patty Mills
Bruce Brown
Kevin Durant
Andre Drummond

** Mavs **
Jalen Brunson
Spencer Dinwiddie
Luka Doncic
Dorian Finney-Smith
Dwight Powell

Injuries:

Kyrie Irving - OUT (F*ck Eric Adams)
Seth Curry - DOUBTFUL (ANKLE)
Lamarcus Aldridge - DOUBTFUL (Foot)
Tim Hardaway Jr. - OUT (Surgery)
Reggit Bullock - OUT (Personal Reasons)

We currently have ZERO wins this year on the second of a back to back. No Kyrie tonight but KD should be rested. Team has been playing with increased urgency. Who are the Mavs... the team that lost by 30 to the knicks or the team who won on the road in Boston?

Does dinwiddie get a video tribute?

For me I think we continue to show up. Funny to say but we have a size advantage on the opponent. thats fun for a change. KD i expect another knick-like performance. 40+ Hopefully Kessler gets some burn and mills has carry over from orlando.

For the Mavs, Luka wont beat you. let him score 70. dont help and dont leave shooters open. this game i think turns out just like miami. big lead but then we leave bertans and kleber and brunson wide open and they hit a billion threes.

Nash will be an issue this game for sure. and as much as i love James Johnson im putting the over/under on times he leaves a shooter to double a scrub at 5.

not the worst loss, but i dont see us winning. unlike the knicks, 50 from KD probably isnt enough.

live look at this forum 10 hours from now

This is a tough game for us. Dallas is good. This is the type of game where we need Ben to guard Luka. KD can guard him but Luka uses so many screens - you just have to switch stuff. He's too big for everyone else and too skilled for our bigs outside of Claxton.

I'd feel better about this game if we get Seth back.

Hope Kessler gets more run today. He can probably hang with Luka and he looked good yesterday. I still feel like he's the 3+D guy that we can use. He's not good if he needs to create for himself but with KD in the rotation and Dragic as backup 1, he can just spot up, cut, and defend.

Luka is like a euro version of harden. Great floor raiser, but usage inflates his actual value a bit. great regular season player. doesnt translate quite as well to the playoffs.

Like Harden, teams overreact to stop him instead of just playing him straight and limiting those around them. If luka wants to take 40 foto step backs let him. dont double or help off wings. if he hits them tip your cap.

I'm confident we score 110. if luka gets 50 they still need 61 from the rest of the team. and the rest of their team doesnt have much scoring wise.

We need Curry back for this game.

I don't feel great about it but we have a shot.

Luka has already had more memorable moments in the playoffs than Harden. He hasn't gone further in the playoff because he has not had a reliable #2 unlike Harden who has had CP3, DH, WB etc. Luka's more like LeBron than Harden when it comes to manipulating the defense to get either the shot he wants or create a shot for others.

The Mavs are heavily depended on the 3 ball. That's why they lost to the Knix. They couldn't hit a shot to save their lives. If their role plays are hot, then the Nets will lose. Also the Mavs play really good defense and like the Celtics, they are great at switching and make things really difficult. Curry is a must this game.

Same strategy: let Luka go one on one and stay home on the shooters. If Luka beats us by himself with a hand in his face, I'll tip my hat to him.

Luka hasn't made it out of the first round. So i dont want to hear about "memorable playoff moments".

Mavs were up 3-2 on the clippers and lost the series with Luka being a -8 in game 6 and a -9 in game 7.

The year prior it was a 2-2 series and they lost the games 5 and 6 where luka was a -23 and -9 respectively.

Harden has dozens of performance as good as lukas early series play the last 2 seasons. And while harden has alot of fails in elimination games he also has a lot of success too and has gotten to the finals/conference finals.

Luka has played in 2 playoff series and lost to stacked Clippers teams with Kawhi and PG..

Who was Luka's 2nd best player in all his playoff games? Tim Hardaway Jr?

Super reductionist (did you really just use box +/- as an argument point??) and unfair to make it seem like Luka failed in those spots. The Mavs were major underdogs in both series.

It's way too soon to compare Luka to Harden anyway BUT he's already trending to be better playoff performer than Harden.

Luka avg: 34-9-10 on 50-40-60 shooting splits
Harden avg: 23-6-6 on 43-33-87 shooting splits

Anyway, I don't want to derail the thread with a Luka vs Harden as I don't care too much about either player.

No Seth again but he's expected to play Friday. Cam is a game time decision.

Ben got an epidural recently so I don't really know what that means for his timeline. Or whether that's good or bad.

I think we got a good shot at winning tonight. We are overdue for a win a second night of a back to back. I see the team as a whole is playing more focused and confidant.

Wow that's the first I heard of Ben already having an epidural shot. I think there is only a small amount per year a person can receive. I think it's three. I know my Father got a the maximum amount allowed and they did not help him.

Best case, Ben is back for the play-in. Likeliest scenario is he's out for the season.

Wow, the egos on these refs. We missed a call on your shot and you dared to complain, guess what, here's an offensive foul on you.

Two egregious missed calls already. Why are refs so consistently awful??
