its pretty simple. you give him our full MLE and make him priority 1B after extending Kyrie.

If he's willing to take the MLE then we are good. But if someone offers him more, we are screwed.

Frankly Dre has shown enough to know that we need a center like him on our roster. But it depends on what he wants and what other teams offer him really.

alot of teams can give him the full MLE. It is simple for us, he takes the most we can offer, which i think we are happy to give, or he walks. I really hope he stays, but if he goes, that frees the MLE up also.

Andre has provided a much needed dimension of physicality and inside presence. If we can keep him, great. If not, let's hope we learn from last offseason.

You can find useful C's for the vets minimum, even if it's just a one year deal and a revolving door each summer. Durant loves McGee, so I could see us pursuing him on the cheap. Same with Ibaka, and if we have a deep run, these types of guys may choose a title chance over to dollar. Guys like Hartlestein, Whiteside, Biyombo, Dedmon, Yurtseven, Lopez, Dieng and others will be fighting for a limited number of MLE/LLE offers.

Not extending Harden offers us some salary flexibility. Still, we need to spend prudently at the least valued position, when so many other positions in our team are filled with high salary guys.
Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

If drummond leaves and patty stays id look to swing for the fences on a big via trade:

Claxton (S&T)
Harris
Cam
2-3 1sts

that matches salary, provides a sniper, clax, a young scorer and multiple picks. That should get us something really valuable

I’d keep Claxton over Drummond, easy.

This maybe not very popular take right now but, I'd let Dre go unless he accepts to take vet minimum. Giving Sharpe min, retaining Nic and hopefully Blake more important to me.

My priority list is:
1a-b Dragic and Brown.
3- Nic
4- Blake
5- Dre
Don't really care what LMA going to do. If he stays another year for vet min I'll be cool with it just not much exited. I would rather have JJ no matter how bad he looks right now.

If Patty stays and resigns here long term, I will entertain Joe for Miles trade. Joe has more value than Miles so getting additional low 1st or high 2nd is a must for me. Also with addition of Ben Joe is much more important could be said and they'll be right too.

So yes, if Dre not taking vet min I don't want him here. I'd rather have Sharpe getting those min and developed.

Dre was a huge reason as to why we trashed Miami. Adebayo was complete non factor when usually he bullies us. That wasn't a coincidence.

If Dre wants to stay for the MLE, you do it

I think he was a good pickup for us, fills a void we lacked since the fro left for sure.

With that being said, maybe I have higher expectations of him, but I feel like he has a couple WTF/Brain fart moments per game that should not be in his game anymore at this stage of his career.

Example last game vs. Bucks, He's a rebound machine but somehow Jrue Holiday scores a putback on a missed FT which was a CRUCIAL play in the game. Now, I am NOT blaming him for the L, just saying those little things change the momentum of games which ultimately changes the outcome of games.

I think between him, Clax and LMA we have a good C rotation, only problem Nash does not understand how to adjust quickly enough and in games where Drummond is struggling he keeps him out despite being a liability instead of playing Clax for example.

I'd definitely welcome him back for what we can offer him because it'd be hard to find a better deal for that type of talent level and there's no guarantee Clax returns.
