How does everyone feel about possibly signing Dennis Schroeder? We still have our MLE.

I would, but I think a trade would need to happen first. Signing him means Watanabe & Duke can't be on the regular 15 man roster (not a big deal), but I think Marks wants to maintain roster flexibility.

Crap. I wouldn't want to lose either guy
He would fill a position of need. He's been a beast at the Eurobasket.

I get why some people want a PG but we really can't afford to sign another small player without a trade. Kyrie, Patty, Seth are all guys that should get minutes. Theyre really small. Cam should only get minutes with injuries but he's also undersized.

But we do need consistent ball handlers though....
Tough call.
But who cares? Nash doesn't employ a system where it requires multiple people to contribute and play effectively together

Of course another ball handler would be nice but don't think it's a huge priority. Between Ben, KD, KAI and Seth (also Sumner and Cam), that is already a bunch of players who can handle and initiate offense. Plus Nash wants to play up tempo style which can diminish the need for a true orchestrator somewhat, since Ben is excellent in transition/fast break/delayed fast break.
The best teams in the NBA are also shifting away from emphasizing a true traditional PG. Players like Chris Paul is a dying breed. Just look at the Celtics or the Bucks who have combo guards (Smart, Holiday) as their primary initiator. Their defense is much more valuable than what they lack in true play making/leading an offense. Same thing with the Warriors, where Draymond operates as the "PG" in most half court sets. I think Ben can play a point forward type role, with KD, KAI and Seth as additional playmakers when on the floor.
Besides, I don't think is Schroeder is a good fit for this team either, personality or on the court.

Dennis is undersized and we already have Mills/Curry/Irving all undersized guards. Irving is obviously a superstar talent but why would we want to make the mistake we made last year. Schroeder would be a good insurance signing if one of Mills/Curry goes down but that's it.

Kyrie, Cam and KD are initiators of their own scoring. They're not ones that will create shots for others.

We could always use a good facilitator, and that's why I think Cheese is going to be tough to cut. He might be undersized but he causes a lot of chicanery on the court and sometimes that is what is needed to change things up.

KD finally reported to the training center today.
Media day is going to be a complete sh*t show.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Kyrie decided to protest the season cause of vaccine requirements or cause of Robert Sarver. And all of this comes crashing down quicker than anyone expects.
I've never been less excited for a season to start.

The idiot just basically compared having to get vaccinated to genocide and slavery. He can't even help himself.
Media day is going to be a disaster between him having the wild urges to post and say a bunch of craziness, and KD being baited by the media over the chaos he caused this summer.
It's sad. You see Joe Tsai and co trying to make this work but we're dealing with two of the most volatile and immature players in league history.

This literally killed what little enthusiasm that I had.
Kyrie is free to speak his piece, and i can just roll my eyes and hope that he takes basketball seriously this season, but I'm not giving him the benefit of a doubt.

Every year closer to training camp or after the season just starts, Kyrie somehow find a miraculous way to derail the season, and then come April, we'll hear KD give a speech about how it was not Kyrie's fault but management's fault. He's already getting this **** started in a different manner. He is literally toying and playing with everyone and just doesn't seem to give a ****. Good luck getting that contract next season.

I mean if we're being honest, none of this stuff is new. I just don't understand why he wants to draw negative attention to himself. Like bro, we get it. You're a "free thinker" that feels that science, facts and data are irrelevant. Okay. Fine with me. Do you.
But for f*cks sake, can we just get one season where the focus is 100% hoops??? Just one. That's all I ask.

I'm probably in the minority but I'm all aboard the trade Seth Curry wagon.
He can contribute but duplicates a lot of what we already have and is probably the one real trade chip left to get back a front court upgrade without overpaying...

You're Marks and Tsai in this situation. Do you go ahead and cut cord, less than a week from training camp? I gotta say, I would explore offers for both Kevin and Kyrie like there was no tomorrow.

For some reason i talked myself into thinking Marks told Tsai he can get Ingram next year or at the trade deadline
Well, if anything JB will be there sure. Trust me man, this young millionaire is out because of family and ego. There's better places to live than Massachusetts where he can fulfill his ego. This is different generation of AA, so Pierce, Kobe etc examples kind of useless here.
