GT: Nets @ Memphis Grizzly's - 10/24 8:00PM EST

Post#1 » by Stone » Sun Oct 23, 2022 3:23 pm

The Grizzly's are 2-1. They beat the Knicks in OT on opening night. I watched the end after our debacle with the Pelicans. It could have gone either way but the Grizzly's squeaked it out. They then went on to beat the pre school Rockets and Ja made a few headlines with a 49 point performance, only to come back down to earth after the Mav's mopped the floor with them by 41 points.

IMO the Grizzly's over achieved lasted season and with the western conference getting stronger I don't see them doing as well this season.

I haven't read anything about injury except that Dillon Brooks is day to day.

As for us we have three tough games in a row. And we know after the embarrassing loss to Dallas, the grizzly's want to make a statement. We need to let Ja get his and work on stopping the rest of them.

Ps , Wembanyama watch , we own sixers pick ( from Harden trade) , if they land in lottery and win #1 we keep this pick

Few things, I want to see SImmons MORE AGGRESIVE instead of passing off without looking at the rim, ala the Claxton play where he passed it off on Friday, even with an open lane to the basket; I want to see LESS HERO AND ISO ball and better coaching. Raptors blitzed the living hell out of Kyrie and KD and made them turn it over a few times so NASH NEEDS TO step up his game and figure out schemes to work around that and give them open shots. Also, no more Kevin handling the ball, and this means we need a back up PG if Simmons ever gets hurt.

Prediction

Nets 100 Grizzlies 110.

I don't see us beating Memphis and don't feel we are in that echelon yet...... AND IT'S ALL DUE TO COACHING, nothing else.

Feel like the Grizz have owned us since they drafted Ja. Would be nice to get a dub.

I saw some Twitter thread that broke down the game in Toronto that felt like we didn't run much offense because we were more just taking advantage of Toronto's aggressive + switching defense. Memphis plays more standard so hopefully we get it going offensively today.

Grizz got blown out by 40+ last game, they will want to get revenge this game for their pitiful performance.

I could see a bad L if the Nets don't take it seriously in the first few minutes as per usual.

Injury report not playing update.

Nets : Seth Curry , TJ Warren, Markieff Morris (Personal reasons)

Grizzlies: Danny Green, Jaren Jackson Jr, Zaire Williams, Dillion Brooks (Questionable)

Who else wants to see "Young Clax" bringing it tonight?.....

The Nets should be studying the tape from the Mavs game. We are shooting 33% from three as a team, if we can get a friendly rim and points from Joe we could pull this one off.

Good time out. Joe and Patty are key and we need them to hit their three’s

We're offering zero pressure on the rim even with Jaren Jackson out, Ben can get there but he's not mentally ready to look at the rim yet I guess.

we're running plays, moving ok off the ball, but it's still difficult shot after difficult shot if no one is threatening the rim.

Sharpe is liability on open space. It's been consistent thing, is it effort or ability I'm not sure. I'd try to move him before anything.

Ben Simmons' role on offense has to be more. I know everything is new for him but he has to do more.

If not, the team should just trade him for a 3&D wing on a cheaper salary.

Nash trying to figure out how to run Ben with Nic at the same time, not sure it's a good game to pick on.

Not a bad quarter. Patty Mills got destroyed by Tyus Jones though on 3 straight trips.

Agreed, we kicking tires right now. If he fails to provide, he should be on the trading block too.

Entire team should be on prove it or move it thing.

I wouldn't go that far. But he's probably still in need of more seasoning to be a full time back up
