GT: Nets Vs Wizards 7:30 11/30

Post#1 » by Stone » Tue Nov 29, 2022 6:38 pm

It took a herculean effort by KD and for Joe to finally put a decent amount of points up for us to win against a young Orlando Magic team who put up a strong fight.

Next up is the Wizards who are record wise similar to us. The last time we played the Wizards we were without Kyrie while he was suspended. We had a balanced effort with 7 Nets players scoring in double figures.

If anyone has injury updates please add them.

Ben and Yuta are out. Not having those two is a huge loss.

As you stated, the fact that KD had to play god level basketball for us to beat a young Magic team that got blown out by 30 the night before vs a short handed 76er team is an ominous sign.

Wizards are to big with Porzingis. Not sure how I feel but I'm tired of the inconsistency considering the talent level; if it continues, they would be better off rebuilding and playing this way than having an all time level talent and playing this way. Sorry, but KD/Kyrie never seemed interested in winning a ship with this team; sad reality we Nets fans gotta face and hopefully move on from soon.

I am getting sick and tired of my team being sabotaged by two people who keep saying, "WE HAVE NOTHING LEFT TO PROVE" and this statement is indicative they never cared about winning rings for the Nets; I honestly hope we just build through the draft and some decent trades. Why oh why did Marks sign KD to that extension and good riddance to Kyrie and his political **** after this year. There was always justification for his antics and three years we had to deal with it. Enough is enough.

Edit: For those of you asking why I am posting this reaction, please go read KD's tweet response to BKN 85 from yesterday. HE WAS NEVER INTERESTED IN A SHIP.

I got to agree, it seems like KD's efforts are tied into his desire to climb the NBA all time scoring list.

I hate to lay this on you, because you are one of the posters I least disagree with. But I cannot convince a KD hater because I cannot understand the enormity of the hate. So it would be, as has been my experience, useless to even try.

I think if KD was interested in individual glory, he'd probably retire having the fourth highest all time league average. That is unless he first wants to see if he can pass Elgin Baylor or stay ahead of LeBron. But I don't think even that matters to him that much since he'll still be in good company.

All time scoring, on the other hand, is most a matter of longevity.

In a very recent interview, when asked about his possibility for MVP, he said that did not concern him, only winning a championship does. I have no reason to disbelieve that, in spite of how a detractor interprets an off the cuff comment to a fan that I interpret differently, or even the comments of yellow internet "journalists" looking for click bait. Actually, I think love of the game most motivates him.

Most of all, I just cannot believe any great player, or even just any NBA player, is not interested in winning rings.

I understand the hate for KD and ky, but in my opinion KD hast earned a ton of respect this season. After asking for a trade in the offseason, the easiest way would have been to just stop caring/playing. There were so many players in league history that actually did it that way, e.g VC and Harden before being traded to the Nets. Durant on the other hand is straight up balling, even breaking records. In my opinion, when you watch him play, you see full commitment. I get the hate, but I think he deserves some credit, too.

His latest Twitter response to BKN85 says otherwise. That’s the concern, is he serious about winning a ship here. Why is he saying it’s a reach? There’s to much talent and money invested in this team to say crap like that

I think KD does want to win games. You don't play the way that he's played, buying into the offensive system the way that he has if his only concern was to move up the scoring list.

Some of yall trippin KD out here diving on the floor for a loose ball on a Tuesday in November game against the Raptors. Were questioning if he wants to win. If you wanna see someone show you they dont care about winning here go watch Harden stretch of games as a Net before he was traded.

Two GT I see. Let's keep this one going.

Joe Harris 3-4 from 3 for 11pts. Hope he will build from here. More like old Joe Harris stats.

Please help me clarify then. And I love the ball movement and defense against the Wizards so far.

This is the best game we've played all season

KD and Kyrie picking their spots

Joe Harris playing like himself

Vaughn being aggressive as a coach, multiple substitutions switching up offense for defense

Very good
