GT: Nets @ Heat 1/8 - 6:00 PM

Post#1 » by Stone » Sat Jan 7, 2023 3:43 pm

The Heat (21-19) are coming off a win against the Suns in Phoenix. Dipo dropped 26 in the win. They return home to face the Nets on Sunday.

We are coming off an ugly win in New Orleans and we have not been our normal selves for the last two games. Jacque and our staff are probably preparing our team right now. It is a beautiful day in Miami sunny and in the mid 70's and I hope our guys get a chance to get outside and take in some fresh air and recharge.

I believe Herro is listed as questionable and Duncan Robinson is out.

We should have a full roster again. But if there are any updates, please add them.

I want to see the same defensive intensity that we saw last night mixed with better ball movement.

We've got to get Joe Harris more involved. Edmond Sumner needs to play.

Agree on both fronts. 1 Field goal attempt each for Harris and Watanabe is an indictment of the horrific ball movement.

I agree on Sumner as well. If Curry is going to shoot 3 for 9, might as well put the bigger, faster, better defensive Sumner in. I'm shocked how much time Curry is getting. He's a good player, but as he was working his way back, Vaughn was seemingly prioritizing size and it was working. The Curry-Irving combo is too small.

Joe and Yuta only getting two shot attempts falls both squarely on the feet of Vaughn, KD and Kyrie.

I don't mind Kyrie being aggressive, but he nearly shot us out of the game yesterday. Move the ball, hit the floor spacers. There will be plenty of ISO attempts in the 4th.

The Nets didn't start winning because of iso ball. We win because of defense and team offense. I want to see us get back to that.

I don't hate Seth, but Sumner is a better fit for the rotation because of his defense, size, and attacking speed. Kyrie and Seth should not play together under any circumstances.

Also, Nic Claxton should be under heavy consideration for the all star game. He leads the league in multiple categories and is an elite shot blocker and defender. When will the media smarten up?

He's also an elite finisher. When was the last time you saw him miss a contested shot? Dude is unstoppable once he catches it inside.

All star, and imo All NBA defense 1st team.

Warren with two back to back threes.

Miami's defense is good but we can pull away if we stay disciplined on defense ourselves

I feel like we started off great defensively - then they hit a few lucky shots and now our defense is terrible. Way too many mistakes. Hope the guys clean it up in the second half. We should be up comfortably.

Too many defensive lapses and laziness and points in the paint. It should be fixed second half.

Defense was bad but no Claxton hurts a lot.

Hopefully we can clamp down in the second half.

We are shoot the ball well, just need to tighten up on D. Hopefully Nic doesn't pick up a quick foul.
