Knock on wood, this seems like the best case scenario.

Sounds like this was a mild sprain. KD should be back after all star break at latest.

We got lucky. very lucky.

Knowing the Nets this will be a minimum of 4 weeks... 2 weeks then revaluated, with 1 more week precautionary and then 1 week ramp up...

Might even make sense to track on an additional week which would place his return right after the all star break...

Starting 5 going forward should be Claxton/Warren/Royce/Irving/Simmons

We can and should win games without KD. this roster has the tools and the talent. We're not repeating that BS that happened last year with Nash, mark my words.

Simmons is going to have to give us 12-15ppg during this stretch.

6 games in the 2 week stretch before re-evaluation, including a road trip out west. The earliest would be @Philly on the 25th, but given that's the first half of a back to back, home vs Detroit on the 26th might be the best case scenario.

I just don't know if we can survive without KD. Last year was a disaster.

We need guys like Simmons and Harris to step up in a big way.

There are no days off in the NBA anymore. The talent level is insanely high.

in some ways it's a good test the team probably needs.

there's room now for Simmons to fully step up and be what he was in Philly. this is his time.

kyrie is obviously the primary bucket getter when you need it, Warren probably the primary off the bench. and you probably get more Curry/Patty off bench for scoring.

biggest issue is front court depth defensively. not really an obvious player to get more 'big' minutes.

i assume KD gets replaced by Harris in start 5 which is fine with both claxton and simmons on floor but when those 2 go to the bench things get weak unless sharpe (or morris) really steps it up.

Woj says less than a month, which I am guessing means 2 weeks of total rest, re-evaluation, then he needs to get some rehab/controlled practice time in to test it out.

1 month is not as bad as six weeks.

But it still sucks.

I truly believe we could have got the 1 seed. Now its going to be a struggle to stay in the top 4.

Lets see how this team responds.

Hope he is back before the all star game and actually participates in the game. He is the leading vote getter it would suck if he missed the game two years in a row.

I think we'll manage to stay top three. He will be re evaluated in two weeks, This week there's a three day layoff with one game being played and than next week we have some winnable games. If we go 5-5, we would be 33-18. We can still win and manage a top seed; not time to panic.....YET. Boston lost Marcus Smart to a knee injury, I don't think Boston is winning without him.

We can survive. Kyrie + this roster is still a good team. TJ Warren, Harris, Seth, and Ben all need to step up to provide scoring.

Steve Trash is not at the helm; won't be happening. This is the the Nets final chance to win a ship with Kyrie/KD as their star duo. After this, it's goodbye. Kyrie spurned Cleveland even after winning a title and spurned Boston, he will most likely do the same to us. KD may get traded. Nothing short of a championship will help this team keep either player.

I don't see Kyrie leaving.

He is from NJ and I highly doubt he wants to stop being with his family.

And where would he go? LA to play with LeBron at 40 years old.

I think he probably stays.

I usually don't care about the All Star game but for KD's sake, I hope he's back and 100% before then. I know it sucks for him to be one of the best players in the league but not play in the All Star game for the last 4+ years.

I'm glad it seems minor though. Last year, his timeline was pretty much open ended. Now it sounds like we're looking at 4 weeks max.

ughh well just glad it won't be that long. I hope it's only 2 weeks, last year I think I remember it wasn't even suppose to be 6 weeks he was out but for some reason it kept prolonging. Like MDB said we should be able to survive without him especially against the lesser teams. We definitely should not have no darn 11 game losing streak like last year, we're better equipped now. I won't be surprise to see Kyrie drop 50 in a game.

Everybody is just going to have to step up and this'll force Simmons to look for his own shot and play better. This should also boost Cam's value as well as I imagine he'll get some minutes. Curry, Joe, Patty, Cam, Simmons and TJ are going to have to pick up the pieces and hold the fort down until. We should bring Kessler Edwards back up too.

Here's to hoping that it's Warren and not Curry who gets a lot of the excess minutes, 'm interested to see what he can do with more minutes given that he's a KD lite in a lot of ways (emphasis on the lite)...

Hopefully Sumner also gets some more run. He tends to make things happen on both ends. This team is going to have to win with grit.

Bubble TJ Warren to the rescue? This would be the perfect time.
